CLEAN GREEN PAKISTAN
The Green Youth Movement (GYM) is an initiative of the Prime Minister's Youth Program. The program aims to enable youth in the country to spearhead sustainable development and green growth in the country. These are Green Clubs established by HEC in all the public sector universities. There is a team of every club led by a Focal person (usually faculty members) and the team consists of a Captain, Vice Captain and 5 thematic leads.
There are five thematic areas which are
Agriculture and forestry
Liquid and solid waste
Water
Renewable Energy
Eco-tourism
These clubs will arrange different events related to the above thematic areas in campus and outside the campus.
Plantation drives
Tree Adoption
Water conservation drive through Poster Competitions and Community Sessions
Eco-tourism drive
Students will be taken to national parks and other reserved sanctuaries to highlight challenges to the local environment and to inspire students to come up with ideas on eco-tourism.
The participants will also be encouraged to think of ways and pilot projects to improve eco-tourism through GYM Clubs.
