Zao International Workshop on

"Dawn of Gravitational-wave Cosmology and Theory of Gravity"

February 28 --- March 2, 2022

Overview

Gravitational waves, figuratively called "ripples in the fabric of spacetime," have been drawing much attention as a new "eye" to probe our universe, since its first direct detection in 2015. They provide a new observational tool that is completely independent of conventional electromagnetic methods and are expected to keep increasing their statistical power in the upcoming decades, opening up an era of gravitational-wave cosmology. This workshop takes the advantage of this exciting development and accommodates talks and discussions on related topics, including (but not limited to) sources of gravitational waves, inflation, early universe, gravity beyond general relativity and effective field theories in cosmology.

The workshop in particular encourages interactions among young researchers and reserves extended time for discussions. In order to maximize the communication opportunity without time constraints, and in order to suppress external exposure during the workshop period under the current situation of COVID-19, the participants are expected to stay at a common place of accommodation at which the workshop takes place.
