群馬の森

2004年に群馬の森に建立された朝鮮人追悼碑は、2024年1月に行政代執行により撤去されました。このプロジェクトは、AR（Augmented Reality = 拡張現実）技術によって、再びこの場所にヴァーチャルな追悼碑を建立します。碑があった場所にデバイスをかざすと、そこに原寸のヴァーチャルな追悼碑が現れます。たとえ碑が撤去されても、過去の事実と記憶、そしてこの「場所」を消すことはできません。人々の想いによって「碑」はここに存在し続けます。

The monument dedicated for Koreans was constructed in Forest of Gunma in Japan, 2004. But in January 2024, it was demolished and removed by the administration. The AR Korean Monument Reconstruction Project in the forest of Gunma has reconstructed the VR monument at the exact the same spot where it was, by using Augmented Reality (AR) technology. That is, while a device is held up at the site, the full-scale virtual monument will appear. Even though the physical monument has been removed, the facts and memories of the past, as well as the "place," can never be erased. In other words, the monument will be here, unless our wishes go away.
