José Guillermo Díaz
My research sits at the intersection of political economy and industrial organization, with a focus on how institutional design affects political and economic outcomes. A large part of my work examines elections in Latin America—studying how rules, information, and actors shape electoral competition and governance. I also work on regulatory economics, analyzing how contract design and incentives influence efficiency in public service provision.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University
