I am a Ramón y Cajal Research Fellow at the University of Oviedo, Spain. From January 2023 to December 2024 I was a Marie Skodowska-Curie Action Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Wireless Innovation, Queen’s University Belfast, UK, which I joined back in 2022. Before joining Queen’s University Belfast, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Signal Theory and Communications research group of the University of Oviedo, where I completed my PhD in 2020. In 2019 I was a visiting scholar at the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics and Nanotechnology (IEMN), University of Lille (France), and in 2018 at the University of Pisa (Italy).
Currently my research is mainly devoted to the development of portable imaging systems (handheld and UAV-based), synthetic aperture radar (SAR) techniques and computational imaging. My research interests also include antenna diagnosis and characterization, localization and attitude estimation systems, and RFID technology. I have co-authored more than 80 journal publications and contributions to conferences, and I hold two patents, and my research has been recognized with several awards.
Throughout my career I have participated in numerous research projects and collaborated with several internationally recognized research groups and companies. I also serve as a reviewer in several journals and international conferences, and I was guest editor in the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation letters and in Remote Sensing. In addition I participate in different outreach activities.
