Research interests

My research interests are  focused on forest funcional ecology under global change. I investigate the ecological processes determining the performance and capacity of acclimation of forests to global change, to understand how forest ecosystems will respond to a changing world. I have worked in different ecosystems, from temperate Patagonian forests to Mediterranean ecoystems in Europe and America. Currently, my activities deal with different techniques including dendroecological analysis and tree growth modelling of Mediterranean species using multiproxy data. I combine empirical and process-based approaches to investigate whether global change will enhance vulnerability of forest ecosystems and how functional plasticity of species can adjust in response to mitigate the impact of climate change.
