Guided Solutions Counseling is a practice for children and families. My name is Nora Sapieka and I am the sole proprietor and mental health care provider. See below 'How Can We Help?' section for more details on my counseling style and services provided.
I have been a Professional School Counselor for the last 17 years, working with students in grades K-12 in Chicago in the domains of social emotional learning, academic success, and college/career exploration and preparation. Additionally, I have worked as a tutor with high school students studying for college entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT for over six years.
Having grown up in a northwest suburb of Chicago, I understand the distinct pressures and strains of this region and am therefore uniquely able to relate to children and families concerns.
Guided Solutions is In Network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO of IL and accepts self pay for out of network clients.
Guided Solutions Counseling provides mental health care specializing in social emotional issues of children and parents. Attention deficit, anxiety, depression, relational issues and academic struggles are some of the areas of concern with which I can help, including making potential recommendations to your child's school on how to best support them.
With a solution focused counseling model, I will work with you to develop a treatment plan and enact a problem solving design. This practice believes in a relational approach, with client and counselor working together to find the most appropriate and effective solutions. Guided Solutions works with children on these issues as well as parents' concerns in relation to their children.
Here are three specific ways in which I can help:
Choosing, teaching, and evaluating appropriate and effective coping skills for children.
Working with parents and children to create a successful and developmentally appropriate learning environment at home to support work being done in school.
Expanding socialization skills with children so that they don't face social emotional learning deficits as they work through issues of anxiety, depression, and learning concerns.
Currently providing tele-health services, with in person sessions available as needed.Â
