The beloved American classic, the Ford F-150, is returning to Australia in 2023. Built to last and boasting an iconic profile, the F-150 is sure to be a fan favourite. So if you can picture yourself cruising around Brisbane in one of these impressive utes, keep reading. Here's what you need to know before looking for a Ford F-150 for sale near you.

Your Guide to the New Ford F-150 Trim Levels Coming to Australia

If you've been waiting for a new addition to the heavy-duty pickup market, America's favourite pickup is what you've been hoping to find. The F-150s will be built in the U.S. and then altered to right-side drive once they arrive at Aussie factories.

Ford is starting this run with two trim options for drivers to choose from: the Lariat and the XLT. You can't go wrong with either of these superb specimens, but which one appeals to you will depend on your aesthetic preferences and lifestyle.

Exterior Appearance

The XLT

Although the XLT and the Lariat are similar in appearance, the XLT has a slightly more contemporary look. Featuring all-black insets in the grille and a thinner horizontal bar running through the grille, this version of the F-150 looks sporty and as if it would look equally comfortable rolling down the interstate or taking the trail less travelled.

The Lariat

While both iterations have the athletic, bold style synonymous with the Ford F-150, a few differences distinguish the Lariat from the XLT. Featuring a chrome grille with larger inserts, the front end of the Lariat could be a poster child for heavy-duty utes. The Lariat also offers slightly larger wheels, adding to the vehicle's robust countenance. Finally, LED tail lights and fog lights complete the picture, resulting in a ute that's as rugged as it is stylish.

Performance

The XLT

Pop the hood and you'll find Ford's solid 3.5-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost petrol V6 motor. Since it has an output of 678Nm of torque and 298kW of power, this engine is ready to tackle any challenge you throw at it. A ten-speed automatic transmission makes putting your engine through its paces effortless. Moreover, with a towing capacity of 4.5 tonnes, there's no job too big for the F-150.

The Lariat

The Lariat has the same high-quality Ford engine as the XLT. Ford has a reputation for building reliable and powerful engines, and the F-150's motor has what it takes to stand out against competitors.

In the Cab

The XLT

Hope inside the F-150 XLT and you'll enjoy climate-control air-conditioning and a Sync4 infotainment system designed with user-friendliness in mind. In addition, features such as rear privacy glass, cruise control, automatic high beams, and parking sensors make each drive a little more enjoyable.

The Lariat

Both trims are available in crew cab grades right now, which provides plenty of legroom for your passengers. The Lariat brings a few extras, such as a bigger Sync4 touchscreen infotainment system and a user-intuitive digital instrument panel. You'll be able to ensure the temperature in your ute is perfect with dual-zone climate control and cooled and heated front seats. Additionally, the Lariat also comes standard with a push-button start and a B&O sound system.
