Recovery

Overview

Accidentally closed your window? Laptop run out of battery? Don't worry - this page will explain how to recovery previous versions of your file.

Normally whenever GUI Pie is closed, you will lose your undo history. If you have been experimenting on something, relying on the ability to undo everything at the end, and have closed your window, you would normally lose all your undo history. However, GUI Pie has an inbuilt way of recovering your save data history even after the window has been closed.
NOTE: This only works consecutively after you have closed your file. If you reopen your file in GUI Pie, you will be unable to recover your undo history from your previous session. Instead, you will recover the undo history for that session. This method is not available for group files.

Method

  1. Open GUI Pie

  2. On the start screen, press F5.

  3. A file dialogue will appear. Select your save file, and press open.

  4. The file will open, and you will see your grid open for editing. However, your undo history will have been preserved. Click undo as many times as needed for you to return to the previous state of your program.
