My name is Guglielmo Minelli. I'm an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering, Division of Aerospace Engineering, at the University of Bologna in Italy.
I completed my PhD on December 8, 2017, at Chalmers University of Technology, where I studied flow control applied to vehicle aerodynamics, both numerically and experimentally.
Following my PhD, I continued at Chalmers as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on vehicle aeroacoustics, particularly the design of barriers to mitigate the noise signature of high-speed train pass-bys. From 2020 to 2024, I worked at Volvo Cars as an aerodynamicist and method developer. In 2024 to present, I joined the University of Bologna as an assistant professor in the CICLoPE research group.
My current research focuses on flow control, aeroacoustics, turbulence and on the use of OpenFOAM and other open-source CFD tools for fluid dynamics industrial applications.
Beside industrial applications, I am very interested in the thermodynamic study related to bees and bee hives.
