The Green University Center of Excellence for Teaching And Learning refers to a team, a shared facility or an entity that provides leadership, evangelization, best practices, research, support and/or training for a focus area in the teaching and learning contexts. CETL also aims at revitalizing stalled initiatives. Within the university, CETL refers to a group of people, a department or a shared facility. It also is known as a competency center or a capability center. The term also refers to a network of institutions collaborating with each other to pursue excellence in a particular academic, research and/or training area.
In the GUB, the center CETL provides sufficient and easily accessible academic skill development services to faculty members as well as administrative staff. The focus area in this center is a training (e.g. capacity building), a skill development (e.g. Pedagogy, Andragogy, Heutagogy), a competency amplification (e.g. action research opportunities), abroad area of training collaboration (e.g. tertiary level teachers’ teaching initiatives) and a path to ensure holistic well-being (e.g. counseling service, social responsibility services).
