It seems that surveys are often the first approach that people think of when they want to learn about the experiences of a group, or assess an activity. While it may be an excellent tool, it is not the only tool. Because we have such small populations at Swarthmore who may be asked to complete many surveys, we strongly encourage those considering a survey to think about other options.

In considering other options, remember to start with the most basic question: What is it that you want to know? Be creative about the many ways you could get this information without conducting a survey. This page suggests just a few ideas.

If you invest in coding the points with connective code then there is no replacement for the automated functionality other than the survey database; once completed perhaps the EXPORTCIVIL3DDRAWING Command (on the Output Ribbon tab) will help in creating an AutoCAD drawing from the Survey Figures (personally never tried it with survey figures myself though!)

By using the database and having the linework created is the only way to get the lines you need. It's really worth taking the time to get your crews to use the line work code sets and description keys established.

I too, dislike (hate) using the resulting survey figures, so I use what poster samir.rezk suggested, using the "export to autocad" with the 2D option. This exports all survey figures as polylines at 0.00 elevation, and curves remain as curves , not segmented lines into a different dwg. In your original import dwg, just delete the figures and paste the polylines in, convert to featurelines, raise to elevation and change feature line styles/layers and add to surface. After that the exported dwg is not needed. I use this to create my linework and it works like a charm (I have lisp functions to make this go quickly and never have to use survey figures, except for the initial import)

Typically I'll receive a .txt or .csv file, along with other attached media (our surveyors like to attach photos on features from time to time). Our surveyors also grab many extended data attributes for completeness. They are normally using Trimble or Leica hardware.

My routine writes the completed survey linework to a .DWG, as well as a sqlite spatial database with the images and other media included. That also lets me write to a survey template .dwg, with my linetypes, layers, and blocks predefined.

But for the basemap, we prefer it to be 2D so that horizontal geometry created later is correct. All figures are converted to 2D polylines at elev. 0, all point symbols to annotative blocks at Z=0. No COGO points in the drawing at all. Any elevation data needed is extracted from the dref'd surface. If someone wants to look at the actual survey shots we have a drawing called Field Survey with all the points in it and turned on.

Exception No. __ is removed. Unless an exception is taken in Schedule B, the policy insures against loss or damage arising from any encumbrance, violation, variation, adverse circumstance, boundary line overlap, or encroachment (including an encroachment of an improvement across the boundary lines of the Land) affecting the Title that would have been disclosed by an accurate and complete land title survey of the Land.

To add the survey to your application, use the code below. For detailed instructions, refer to the Get Started tutorial. You can also view the survey within a configured application on Plunker or CodeSandbox.

Use the Logic tab to define the flow of your survey. You can apply or modify the existing conditional logic and branching for the entire survey to ensure your respondents always get the most relevant questions.

The JSON Schema tab contains an auto-generated survey definition in JSON format and lets you preview, edit, or copy the resulting survey configuration and run it in your app with the SurveyJS Form Library.

Hi, I have created a survey in Survey123 Connect and uploaded the survey online. I shared the survey with a few groups and the organization. A user was able to access the survey in the field, collect data and send the data online.

When I log in as myself to Survey123 Online, go to the survey and click on the "Data" tab, I can see 6 surveys have been collected. However, when the user who submitted the surveys (or any one else in the shared groups) logs into their account, it has "The survey has no records yet" displayed.

The user can access the submitted surveys through ArcGIS Online by adding the survey to a map, but not through Survey123. Currently we have a report template set up in Survey123 for the user to output results but cannot do so when the results don't appear for them.

I'm looking to integrate Power BI and survey monkey, and I know at the premium (enterprise) level survey monkey makes connecting to power BI pretty straightforward. My question is (...I think) can I workaround having the premium subscription by integrating the two manually using an API connection? Not unlike this video =mDokTnjM6Fo

The title insurance typically covers the lender/mortgage company, as well as the person purchasing the property. Within that policy there is also a portion of the policy that specifically addresses surveying related issues.

Typically, the lender will automatically receive the survey insurance on their policy. However, the purchaser of the property is only provided survey coverage if they have a boundary survey performed on the property prior to closing.

More details regarding the items that are and are not covered by the insurance are typically found within the title commitment, under Schedule B Section II. Under the standard exceptions (ie. items NOT covered by the policy) you will find the language regarding the survey.

Be advised, that even if a boundary survey is performed, there may still be items that the title company will not insure or assume liability for, such as a fence located on the wrong property. It would be advantageous to have the survey performed well in advance of the closing date so that if any concerns arise, they can be discussed in depth with the title company to ensure that everyone is well informed and insured properly.

To get high accuracy with a drone photo-based survey, one usually needs to place and survey ground control points. Ground control points are either man-made targets (e.g. large cross) that you place on the ground before the flight, or visible natural features, surveyed with a high accuracy instrument (total station or RTK GPS).

To achieve 2 cm to 4 cm ground accuracy from your drone survey over the whole area usually requires 10 or more ground control points. These ground control points (GCPs) require travel over the whole site, take time to place, survey, and optionally remove, and thus are an expensive method. Any way to reduce ground control requirements is money and time in your pocket!

How can you reduce the number of ground control points or remove them completely? You can do that by knowing where you drone was to high accuracy during the flight and for each photograph. Most drones have a built-in GPS (and IMU + barometric altimeter) for navigation but the positional data (esp. in an absolute sense) is not that accurate. A photo-based survey carried out with a modern drone, with its own GPS/ positional data, will be in roughly the correct part of the world and its relative accuracy will be reasonable but its absolute accuracy may be good only to around 5 m to 10 m. On the other hand, if you know where the drone is during photography to high accuracy you can achieve much higher ground survey accuracy.

The PhotoModeler UAS product supports PPK and RTK systems that lets you reduce or remove the requirements for ground control. Imagine the cost and time savings when you are doing accurate surveys using your drone! When you return from your flight you load the photos from the drone camera, the data from the drone PPK unit, and the data from the base station into PhotoModeler UAS and hit process. The result is a highly accurate ground survey in the form of a point cloud, or optionally a dense mesh, contours, 3D file export, or an orthophoto.

The RMS error, which is similar to the one sigma precision, shows an error of approx. 2 cm in Northing and Easting and 6 cm in elevation. This is survey grade accuracy using no ground control points in the solution! The elevation error could probably be improved further using one or two ground control points if that was important (you could even use the drone after landing to do that). Here is a link to the full PPK PDF Report generated by PhotoModeler UAS for this project.

Platforms like Peakon and Culture Amp have made it easy for companies to analyze survey responses and summarize the data with Engagement Scores and similar metrics, which has helped finally give People & Culture initiatives representation in C-Suite discussions. Increasingly, People Leaders themselves are measured by their ability to drive engagement.

As the business world becomes more data-driven, HR leaders are increasingly expected to report on the success of their initiatives based on engagement. However, there are several limitations of engagement surveys that put HR at a disadvantage to the other functional leaders around the table. 2351a5e196
