Giovanni Sartori

I am a third-year PhD student at Heriot-Watt University of Edinburgh, under the supervision of Alexandre Martin in the Algebra, Geometry and Topology group. I completed my Master's degree at Università degli studi di Padova and Universität Regensburg, within the ALGANT programme. 

In February and March 2026, visited María Cumplido at the Universidad de Sevilla.

My field of study is Geometric group theory and I am currently interested in the geometry of Artin groups and the associated Deligne complex.

Together with Julia Bierent and Scott Warrander, I am one of the organisers of the GEARS seminar.

Together with Laura Ciobanu and Alexandre Martin, I was a local organiser of the NBGGT meeting that was held in Edinburgh on 5 November 2025. More details at the dedicated webpage.
