Description

Based on the classic game, Rock ‘Em – Sock ’Em Robots, BattleCore uses VR to immerse the players into the experience of Mech’s in a Tekken/ Mortal Kombat type scene. The target audience would be from ages 16 and above due to realistic looking violence towards non-human looking characters and violence in a sporting context which would gain it a PEGI 16 rating. Using Pacific Rim styled robots, players will be able to choose their Mech suit and put it on, as well as fighting with fellow players in a 1 vs 1 style with one main goal – to win.

Story

BattleCore takes place in a world where robot boxing has taken the world by storm, incredibly popular, matches take place all over the world. BattleCore takes place in the IRBC, International Robot Boxing Championship, hosted in the London. It started in 2048, when robot boxing was vetted by the IOC as an Olympic sport. Boxers and their personal robots come from all over the human empire to take place in the championship. The Winner gets £250,000 and international fame, and the right to defend their title next year.

The winner gets to take away the grand prize of £250,000, but the real prize is the title of International Champion, and the fame that comes with that prestigious award”, the news reporter says sitting behind his desk.

There are three robots that the player can choose from, a light agile robot, a medium robot and heavy class. Each has their own individual skills and abilities.

Light: Prince Jack, British Royalty

A scrappy first timer, built by a robot enthusiast in his shed in London, this light, agile competitive fighter might not look much, but has quickly become a legend in UK robot boxing circles.

Medium: Uncle Sam, American Firepower

A returning pro, Uncle Sam may never have won a championship, but plans to this year. Outfitted by a former ranger, this robot comes packed with rugged armour and plenty of good ol’ american firepower to batter the opposition.

Heavy: Boris the Russian Heavyweight

Legendary within the IRBC community, and champion of the 2nd IRBC. Boris is a sight to behold. Owned by Russian media company: HasNeft, Boris has had years of refinement and money pumped into his development. Huge, well armoured and packing a punch, Boris is looking to crush the competition.
