The images below show the GIT images, and the residuals obtained for AT2023xvj after image subtraction using PanSTARRS reference images. The green circle has a radius of 5.4 arcsec. The red profile below each image shows the counts along an 8-pixel wide horizontal trace through the center of the transient candidate. Each detection shows a PSF-like profile.
The PanSTARRS reference image seen below has a small negative artifact at the location of the source. The amplitude of the artifact is low, as can be seen from the horizontal red trace plotted below it. The images can be obtained at the PanSTARRS-1 Image Archive:
On performing image subtraction using an SDSS image as a template, we do not detect a strong residual at the source location. The two images below show image subtraction results from two different pipelines, with varied parameters. As before, the red line shows a horizontal trace of the image.
