Evergreen shrubs with aromatic, palm-like divided leaves and fragrant star-shaped white flowers
Care: water weekly in periods of drought; does not really require pruning but if needed do so after flowering, & cut back woody stems in centre of plant to encourage new growth
Watch out for: glasshouse red spider mite (only a risk outdoors in very hot dry weather - see here for control methods), snails (regular application of biological control Nemaslug between March & October)
Propagation method: semi-hardwood cuttings
Soil type: acid, neutral, alkaline, well-drained
