This Privacy Policy describes how GroupAlertSOS ("we," "our," or "the App") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our mobile application.
By using GroupAlertSOS, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
# 1. Information Collection and Use
For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:
A. Personal Information
- **Display Name**: You are required to provide a display name so that your group members can identify you during an emergency.
- **Authentication Data**: We use Google Sign-In and Phone Number authentication (via Firebase Auth) to secure your account and synchronize your data across devices.
- **Profile Image**: If provided, your profile image is shared with your group members.
B. Sensitive Data (Emergency Features)
GroupAlertSOS is an emergency alert system. To function correctly, the App collects and shares the following sensitive data when an SOS is triggered:
- **Precise Location**: When you trigger an SOS alert, your precise GPS location is collected and shared in real-time with the members of your emergency group. This is necessary to allow responders to find and assist you.
- **Audio Recordings**: When an SOS is triggered, the App automatically records a 10-second audio clip via your microphone. This recording is uploaded to our secure storage and shared with your group members to provide context for the emergency.
- **Do Not Disturb (DND) Override**: The App may override your device's Do Not Disturb settings to ensure emergency alerts are heard even when your device is in silent or do-not-disturb mode (You need to give this permission during setup).
C. Device Information
We may collect information that your browser or mobile device sends whenever you use our App ("Log Data"). This may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the App when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
Additionally, we collect your device's push notification token (**FCM Token**) to deliver emergency alerts and critical notifications to your device. This token is stored securely in our database and is associated with your user account.
# 2. Third-Party Service Providers
The App uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. These include:
- **Google Play Services**: Used for location services, in-app purchases (Premium), and core Android functionality.
- **Firebase (by Google)**:
- **Firestore**: To store group data, SOS history, and user profiles.
- **Firebase Authentication**: To manage user accounts and sign-ins.
- **Firebase Storage**: To securely store emergency audio recordings.
- **Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)**: To send instant emergency notifications to your group members.
- **Firebase Cloud Functions**: To process backend logic for alerts.
# 3. Data Retention and Sharing
- **Sharing**: Your emergency data (Location, Audio, Name) is shared **only** with the members of the specific groups you have joined or created. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
- **Retention**: SOS history and audio recordings are stored to allow group members to review past events. Group owners have the ability to delete recordings and reset group status.
- **Data Deletion Rights**: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account and associated data (including your profile, groups you own, and history) directly within the App or by contacting us.
# 4. Security
