If you want superior battery life and a secure, in-ear seal for focused office work, choose Groovz True; if you need to stay aware of your surroundings while wearing glasses or prioritize multipoint connectivity, choose eDepot Open Ear Clip-on.
• Groovz True: Offers 27 hours of total playtime with active noise cancellation and an LED case display, but the in-ear design blocks some ambient sound which might be a drawback for safety-conscious users.
• eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: Delivers 40 hours of total listening time with an open-ear design perfect for small ears and glasses wearers, though it relies on passive isolation rather than active noise cancellation.
• Best For: The Groovz True is ideal for those seeking deep immersion and long battery life during long work sessions, while the eDepot fits anyone who needs situational awareness and comfort for extended wear.
The Groovz True Wireless Earbuds are engineered for the professional who needs to lock in on tasks without distraction. These earbuds feature a dynamic driver that covers the full frequency range from 20Hz to 20,000Hz, ensuring that high-definition audio remains crisp whether you are listening to a podcast or attending a conference call. The inclusion of Active Noise Cancellation is a significant differentiator here. In a busy open-plan office or a noisy coffee shop, this technology helps isolate you from background chatter, allowing you to focus entirely on your work or music.
Comfort is another pillar of this design, specifically tailored for long-duration use. The package includes three sizes of silicone ear tips (Small, Medium, Large), which allows you to find a snug fit that seals the ear canal effectively. This secure fit is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the noise cancellation and ensuring the earbuds do not fall out during sudden movements. The "In Ear" placement means they sit inside the concha, providing a physical barrier against external noise that clip-ons simply cannot match.
Battery performance is where these earbuds truly shine for the all-day worker. You get up to 5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, and the charging case extends this total usage to 27 hours. A standout feature for the forgetful user is the LED Battery Display on the case itself. Instead of guessing how much power remains, you can glance at the case to see the exact charge level before you even put the earbuds in your ears. This eliminates the anxiety of running out of juice mid-meeting. With Bluetooth 5.3 and dual microphones featuring advanced noise reduction, these earbuds ensure that your voice comes through clearly even in chaotic environments, making them a robust choice for bone conduction headphones for office professionals who actually prefer traditional audio isolation.

However, you should skip this product if you have very small ear canals that cannot accommodate the included tips comfortably, or if you require total situational awareness while working near traffic or machinery. The in-ear seal, while excellent for sound quality and noise blocking, will mute the world around you. If your office policy requires you to hear emergency alarms or colleagues calling your name immediately, the sealed design might feel too isolating.
The eDepot Open Ear Clip-on is built for a specific demographic: people who wear glasses, have small ears, or need to remain aware of their environment while staying connected. Weighing just 5.2 grams, these earbuds are incredibly light, designed to contour to the outer ear without entering the ear canal. This "On Ear" design ensures that your ear canal remains open, meaning you can wear your reading glasses or safety eyewear without any pressure points or discomfort. The soft silicone brackets hug the cartilage securely, making them a favorite for sports and daily commutes where movement is constant.
Connectivity is a major selling point for the modern multitasker. These earbuds utilize Bluetooth 6.0, offering a stable connection and faster pairing speeds than many competitors. More importantly, they support multipoint connection, allowing you to link two devices simultaneously. You could be listening to a video on your tablet and instantly switch to a phone call without having to disconnect and re-pair. This seamless switching is vital for anyone juggling multiple workflows throughout the day. The 10mm dynamic driver delivers Hi-Fi audio across three distinct modes: Spatial Mode for an immersive soundstage, Music Mode for balanced stereo, and low-latency Game Mode for synchronized video and audio.
Durability and battery life are also impressive for an open-ear device. They carry an IPX5 rating, meaning they can withstand sweat and splashes during intense workouts or unexpected rain. The battery provides 8 hours of playback per charge, and the charging case brings the total listening time to 40 hours. While the individual earbud battery is slightly less than the Groovz True, the total ecosystem duration is superior. The control scheme is equally thoughtful, combining touch panels for basic operations with a dedicated physical button to toggle between the three audio modes. This dual-control system prevents accidental touches during exercise while giving you quick access to your preferred sound profile.
You should consider skipping this product if you are looking for absolute silence or deep bass response. Because the ear canal is open, there is no passive isolation, and the Active Noise Cancellation found in other models is absent. The sound leaks out more easily, which might disturb others if you listen at high volumes in a quiet library. Furthermore, if you have large ear structures that don't grip the clip well, you might experience stability issues during vigorous activity, though the ergonomic design aims to mitigate this for most users.
• Best for total battery endurance → eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: With 40 hours of total playtime compared to 27 hours, you will charge the case less frequently over the course of a week.
• Best for noise isolation and focus → Groovz True: The Active Noise Cancellation and in-ear seal create a quiet bubble that the open-ear eDepot cannot replicate.
• Best for glasses wearers → eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: The open design sits outside the ear canal, eliminating the friction and pain often caused by in-ear buds when wearing frames.
• Best for clear calls in noisy offices → Groovz True: Dual microphones with advanced noise reduction provide superior voice clarity in loud environments compared to standard mic setups.
• Best for multipoint connectivity → eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: The ability to connect to two devices at once via Bluetooth 6.0 makes switching between phone and laptop effortless.
• Best for real-time battery monitoring → Groovz True: The LED display on the case gives you an instant visual readout of remaining power, whereas eDepot lacks this specific feature in its data sheet.
• Best for durability in sweat → Both: Both offer water resistance (IPx4 vs IPX5), but the eDepot's higher rating offers slightly more protection against heavy sweat and splashes.
• Best for audio customization → eDepot Open Ear Clip-on: Three distinct audio modes (Spatial, Music, Game) allow you to tailor the sound experience to the content you are consuming.
After weighing the specifications and use cases, I would personally buy the Groovz True for my own daily office routine. The combination of Active Noise Cancellation and the LED battery display solves the two biggest pain points of remote work: distraction and dead batteries. While the eDepot offers a fantastic open-ear experience, the ability to fully immerse myself in a call or a complex task without hearing the office hum is worth the trade-off of sitting in the ear canal. However, if you are a runner who wears glasses, the eDepot becomes the only logical choice for you. For the average office worker needing best crystal clear calls ear clip headphones for office functionality (or rather, best clear call earbuds), the Groovz True delivers the reliability and focus required to get things done.
Yes, both products handle calls well, but the Groovz True has an edge due to its Active Noise Cancellation and dual microphones with advanced noise reduction, which help filter out background chatter more effectively than the passive isolation of the eDepot.
Yes, the eDepot Open Ear Clip-on supports Bluetooth 6.0 multipoint connection, allowing you to pair with two devices simultaneously and switch between them seamlessly without manual re-pairing.
The eDepot Open Ear Clip-on wins on total battery life with 40 hours using the case, but the Groovz True offers a slightly longer single-charge duration of 5 hours for the earbuds themselves compared to the eDepot's 8 hours per charge (which is actually longer for the bud, but the case total is higher for eDepot). Correction based on data: Actually, the eDepot offers 8 hours per single charge versus 5 hours for Groovz, and a total of 40 hours versus 27 hours, making eDepot the winner for pure longevity.
The eDepot Open Ear Clip-on is explicitly designed for glasses wearers as it sits outside the ear canal, avoiding interference with temple arms. The Groovz True sits inside the ear canal, which may cause pressure points for some glasses users depending on the frame thickness.
