If you want superior battery longevity and a secure, in-ear seal for intense gaming sessions on your console, choose Groovz True; if you need the latest connectivity standards, ultra-lightweight comfort, and a sleek design philosophy that prioritizes all-day wearability, choose Defunc True LITE II.
Both products aim to deliver high-quality audio without the tangle of wires, but they approach the problem from different angles. The Groovz True leans heavily into endurance and robust features like active noise cancellation, making it a powerhouse for long listening marathons. In contrast, the Defunc True LITE II focuses on modern efficiency with Bluetooth 6.0, a semi-in-ear design for breathability, and a compact footprint that feels almost invisible while worn. This isn't just about which one sounds better; it is about which physical form factor and feature set aligns with how you actually use your headphones, particularly when paired with a for ps5 setup where latency and fit can make or break the experience.
• Groovz True: Offers an impressive 27-hour total battery life with an LED display on the case, but its in-ear design and active noise cancellation might feel heavier during extended wear compared to open styles.
• Defunc True LITE II: Boasts cutting-edge Bluetooth 6.0 and a lightweight semi-in-ear build for maximum comfort, though it sacrifices some battery duration (20 hours) and relies on passive isolation rather than active cancellation.
• Who it's for: The Groovz is ideal for users who prioritize uninterrupted playtime and deep bass immersion, while the Defunc suits those who value featherlight comfort and the most current wireless technology.
The Groovz True Wireless Earbuds are engineered for the user who refuses to be tethered by a charging cable mid-session. With a total battery life reaching up to 27 hours, this product solves the most common frustration of wireless audio: running out of power when you need it most. The earbuds themselves provide five hours of continuous playtime, which is substantial enough for a full commute or a long gaming session, while the charging case extends that significantly. The inclusion of an LED Battery Display directly on the case is a practical touch that eliminates guesswork; you can see exactly how much charge remains before you even put them in your ears.
For the gamer specifically, the Groovz offers a distinct advantage through its Active Noise Cancellation and dual microphones with advanced noise reduction. When you are deep into a game on your console, external distractions can be jarring. The active cancellation helps create a focused bubble around you, allowing you to hear every note and beat in high-definition via the dynamic drivers. Furthermore, the smart touch controls make navigating playlists or answering calls seamless without breaking your flow. The IPx4 water resistance rating ensures that these earbuds can handle sweat during intense workouts or unexpected splashes, adding to their durability as a daily driver.

However, the Groovz True is not for everyone. Its in-ear design with rounded tips creates a snug seal using three included sizes (S, M, L). While this seal is excellent for blocking out noise and delivering deep bass, it may not suit users who find in-ear buds uncomfortable after an hour or two. If you have sensitive ear canals or prefer an open fit to stay aware of your surroundings, the tight seal might become fatiguing over time. Additionally, while the sound quality is vivid and clear, the focus here is on immersion and battery life rather than a minimalist aesthetic. You should skip this option if you prioritize a "see-through" design or if you need the absolute latest Bluetooth version for specific low-latency requirements that only the newest chips offer.
The Defunc True LITE II takes a completely different approach, rooted in a Scandinavian design philosophy that values minimalism and functional beauty. These earbuds are built for the user who wants premium sound without the bulk. The semi-in-ear ergonomic fit is the standout feature here. Unlike traditional in-ear models that plug the canal, this design rests more gently on the outer ear structure. This makes them incredibly lightweight and comfortable for all-day wear, whether you are commuting, working from home, or sitting at your desk for a marathon gaming session. At just 50 grams for the entire unit, including the case, they feel virtually weightless, reducing the fatigue associated with heavier in-ear competitors.
Connectivity is where the Defunc truly shines for tech-savvy users. Equipped with Bluetooth 6.0, this model offers the most modern connection standard available in this comparison, promising stable pairing and efficient data transfer. The low latency performance is a critical selling point for anyone looking for true wireless earbuds for ps5, as it minimizes the delay between your actions on screen and the audio output. The 13mm dynamic drivers deliver rich bass and clear vocals, ensuring that the sound remains balanced and powerful despite the smaller package. The AI app support adds a layer of customization, allowing you to tailor the listening experience to your preferences, while the ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) on the microphone ensures your voice comes through clearly during team chats.
The trade-off for this sleek design and advanced connectivity is the battery life and isolation method. With a total playtime of 20 hours, the Defunc falls short of the Groovz's 27-hour capability. While 20 hours is still sufficient for many, heavy users who rely on a single charge for multiple days will notice the difference. Furthermore, the Defunc relies on Passive Noise Cancellation. Without active electronic cancellation, these earbuds do not actively block out background noise; instead, they depend on the physical shape of the earpiece to dampen sound. If you plan to use these in a very noisy environment, such as a busy coffee shop or a loud household, you might find that external sounds bleed in more than they would with an active cancellation model. This product is best for those who value comfort and modern specs over maximum isolation and battery endurance.
• Best for battery life → Groovz True: With 27 hours of total playtime versus 20 hours, the Groovz wins decisively for users who hate frequent charging.
• Best for modern connectivity → Defunc True LITE II: Bluetooth 6.0 offers a newer, potentially more stable connection than the Bluetooth 5.3 found in the Groovz.
• Best for noise isolation → Groovz True: Active Noise Cancellation provides a quieter listening experience compared to the passive isolation of the Defunc.
• Best for comfort and weight → Defunc True LITE II: The semi-in-ear design and 50g total weight make it far more suitable for extended, all-day wear without ear fatigue.
• Best for battery visibility → Groovz True: The LED display on the case gives real-time charge updates, a feature absent in the Defunc's compact case.
• Best for low latency gaming → Defunc True LITE II: The explicit mention of low latency performance and the newer Bluetooth 6.0 chip makes it the stronger candidate for responsive audio.
• Best for call clarity in wind → Groovz True: Dual microphones with advanced noise reduction are highlighted for busy environments, offering a robust solution for calls.
• Best for style and minimalism → Defunc True LITE II: The clean, Scandinavian-inspired design appeals to users who view their audio gear as part of their personal aesthetic.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I recommend the Defunc True LITE II for the majority of gamers and casual listeners in 2026. The combination of Bluetooth 6.0 and low latency performance addresses the most critical pain point for console gaming: audio lag. While the Groovz True is a fantastic device with incredible battery life, the semi-in-ear comfort of the Defunc makes it a better companion for long sessions where physical fatigue becomes a factor. The lightweight build allows me to forget I am wearing them, which is essential when I am trying to get lost in a story-driven game or a competitive match.
That said, if your primary concern is maximizing every minute of listening time and you require active noise cancellation to shut out a noisy world, the Groovz True remains a strong contender. However, for a balanced mix of best with mic over ear headphones for ps5 performance and everyday comfort, the Defunc True LITE II is the smarter choice. It represents a forward-looking design that prioritizes the user's physical comfort and technical responsiveness over raw battery numbers. Check the current price on Amazon to see which fits your budget, but my money is on the Defunc for its ability to deliver a seamless, lag-free experience that doesn't weigh you down.
Yes, both options work well, but the Defunc True LITE II is better suited for gaming due to its low latency performance and Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, which helps reduce audio delay during gameplay.
The Groovz True offers superior endurance with up to 27 hours of total playtime compared to the Defunc's 20 hours, making it the better choice for travelers who cannot charge frequently.
Only the Groovz True features Active Noise Cancellation; the Defunc True LITE II uses Passive Noise Cancellation, relying on its semi-in-ear fit to dampen external sounds.
Both models include microphones designed for clear calls. The Groovz uses dual microphones with advanced noise reduction, while the Defunc utilizes ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) to ensure your voice is heard clearly.
