alistair ozwin "oz" potter was born on the 14th of september in 1928 to ozwin potter, a distant relative of fleamont potter, and his wife, emilia malfoy, at the potter estate in nice, france. he is the only boy and the eldest of the five potter siblings; followed by the twins, juniper and persephon, who are four years younger than him; elizabeth, who is two years younger than the twins; and jessebelle, who is three years younger than elizabeth.Β
when oz was eleven years old, he recieved his hogwarts letter and at the sorting, he was sorted into slytherin. while at hogwarts he shared a dorm with cyngus black and orion black, abraxas malfoy, and one other unnamed boy. during his fifth year of hogwarts, he and orion became romantically involved and started dating in secret, and during his sixth year, his mother dies from a long standing illness.Β
upon graduating from hogwarts, oz convinces orion to take a travel year before his marriage to walburga is finalized, and for the next year, the two live in a cottage in the french countryside they called paradise. when the year was over, orion returned to england to marry walburga, but the two men kept writing letters to each other and orion visited whenever possible.Β
after sirius and regulus black were born some decade later, orion stopped writing for a while before coming to paradise where oz still lived; they made plans to take the boys away from walburga and raise them together in paradise. orion stayed in france for several days to finalize the plan and get rooms ready for his sons, during which he and oz did an illegal ritual to allow them to have a child of their own. it was a girl whom orion named alsephina after the star. orion left to retrieve regulus and sirius but never returned and stopped answering all of oz's letters for the second time.
when she was five years old, oz left his daughter in the care of his sister, persephone, and went to london to investigate orion's silence, but when he approched where he knew grimmauld place to be, he was cornered by walburga and cygnus black, who murdered him via the killing curse.
