Journal Entry:
This week, being the lead modeler, I focused on building and delivering two character models and one environmental model. We also met on the weekend to discuss the plan for our week, and I helped brainstorm for the new hook. I also created the slide documents for our presentation. I met the deadline, and was happy with the results of my models. So far, the models are in their initial phase, and will be updated and given more detail as we develop the game further. My models were built following the concept art done by Farris. Next week, I’m planning to prioritize the creation of our main character model.

As the lead modeler, I focused on refining and adding more detail to both the Security Drone (Police bot) model, as well as the Sweeper model. I also redid the crate, and modeled the main character from Farris' concept art. I was happy with the result of my models, and I feel as though they reflect our concept art and vision of the game well. This next week, I plan to finish all of our remaining characters, as well as work on modeling our environment. Below are the images of my models from this week, untextured and in Maya.
Journal Entry:
For this week, the plan was to create our Bouncer and Wrenches character. Farris, our concept artist, took over for the Bouncer model, since there wasn't enough time to finish the side view concept art in time. I completed the Wrenches character's accessories with the help of Cyrus' humanoid model. I didn't run into any problems with it. I also created another environmental model, a barrel, for this week, and didn't run into any issues.

For this week, I built models requested by the team, as well as what we thought would be needed for the environment. I created and put a simple material on a Magnet model that will be change-able with the player model's Pincer hand. I also created a conveyor belt to add into the factory environment. Finally, I built a Spring Launch model that is going to be used in the game to allow the player to launch to high heights.

For this week, I completed an overhaul of models for our environment, focusing on helping it feel more like a factory by including objects found in a factory setting. I built two versions of pipes, a ceiling truss, an industrial shelf, a ceiling vent, and a cement block divider. I had no issues this week in regards to model creation, and was able to get everything done that was planned the previous week.

This week, I completed the tasks on time, and efficiently. I created the computer system monitor unit we needed in Maya, as well as completed and grabbed simple textures from Substance Painter for our floors, and walls. I wanted the floor and wall textures to be metallic, and concrete, to make our environment feel more like a factory. I only ran into one issue of having to repurchase my license for Substance Painter, but I managed to solve that pretty easily, and got everything done successfully.

This week, I made a much larger magnet as an option that we can use for our magnet specific tutorial levels, helping the player realize what level and mechanic they're currently having to solve. I also created some 2D icons that symbolize what room the player is currently in, so that they notice a difference between rooms. The icons are rusty, doodle-like, and have peeling paint to help give off our intention of the factory environment being uninhabited by humans. I wanted the decals to feel like they were drawn there once, quickly, and then have not undergone any sort of maintenance since.

This week, I made more pipeline models to help stylize our factory's interior environment, to help our player feel a greater sense of ambience. In Substance Painter, I made a simple dusty metal texture to put on our pipelines, so that they are distinct from the walls. I also created a ceiling light that will go along with my previous modeled trusses, which will also help separate the ceiling from the walls, and provide a source for our lighting. I ran into no issues this week and got everything finished that was planned!
