Coach Tristan Towey is a proud graduate of Gretna High School and a member of the 2017 Gretna State Duals Championship team. During his high school wrestling career, he achieved 150 career wins, was a four-time state qualifier, and earned a state medal in 2016.
Following high school, Coach Towey attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), where he earned a K-12 Physical Education degree. His passion for wrestling and commitment to developing young athletes led him to serve as the head coach for the Kearney Mat Cats youth wrestling program. Additionally, he gained valuable experience as an assistant coach for Kearney Middle School and Kearney High School wrestling programs for three years.
Currently, Coach Tristan teaches high school physical education and also coaches middle school football.
Coach Dan Zeleny is a proud graduate of Gretna High School, where he had a distinguished wrestling career. He was a two-time state qualifier, a two-time state medalist, and capped off his senior year by winning a state championship for Gretna.
After high school, Coach Zeleny continued his wrestling career at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he competed on the varsity team for two years. His time as a collegiate athlete further developed his skills and deepened his passion for the sport.
Following college, Coach Zeleny began a career with the Omaha Fire Department, where he continues to serve the community.
Coach Zeleny brings a championship mindset and a wealth of experience to the wrestling room, helping athletes develop both their technical skills and mental toughness. His dedication to the sport and commitment to mentoring young wrestlers make him an invaluable member of the coaching staff.
Coach Connor Fee is a graduate of Gretna High School, where he was a two-time state qualifier and a state medalist in wrestling. In addition to his success on the mat, Connor was an all-state football player for the Dragons, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.
After high school, Connor continued his athletic career at Wayne State College, where he played football for two years before transferring to the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) to wrestle. He went on to earn a business degree from UNK.Currently, Coach Fee owns and operates his own online personal training business, where he helps clients achieve their fitness goals through customized programs.
With experience competing at the collegiate level in both wrestling and football, Coach Fee brings a diverse athletic background and a strong work ethic to the wrestling program. His commitment to developing student-athletes and his passion for fitness make him an invaluable asset to the team.
Andy Janovich is a graduate of Gretna High School, where he was an exceptional multi-sport athlete. On the wrestling mat, Andy was a dominant force—he was a two-time state champion, a three-time state finalist, and holds multiple records in the Gretna wrestling room. His competitive drive and work ethic set a standard for excellence that continues to inspire future wrestlers.
In addition to his wrestling success, Andy was a standout football player. After high school, he continued his football career at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he played as a fullback for the Huskers. His physical style of play and leadership earned him a place in the NFL. Andy was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2016 and played six seasons in the league with the Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and Houston Texans.
Now, Andy brings his championship mindset and elite-level experience to the wrestling room. He is passionate about helping young athletes develop discipline, mental toughness, and the skills needed to succeed both on and off the mat.
Outside of coaching, Andy is a successful entrepreneur. He owns his own roofing company as well as a business specializing in installing boating docks. In his free time, he enjoys hunting and fishing, embracing the outdoors whenever he can.
Andy’s dedication to hard work and his commitment to mentoring young athletes make him a valuable leader and role model in the Gretna wrestling program.
Trev Arlt is a former standout wrestler and emerging coach with a strong foundation in both competition and leadership. A 2023 state medalist at Yutan High School, Arlt continued his wrestling career at Midland University in Fremont.
While at Midland, Arlt balanced athletics and academics, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Intelligence and Technology. His time as a collegiate wrestler helped shape his technical knowledge of the sport and his approach to training and development.
Arlt has quickly built an impressive coaching résumé. He served as an assistant coach at Yutan High School, helping mentor athletes at his alma mater, before taking on the role of head coach at Fremont Bergan Middle School.Arlt is passionate about developing wrestlers both on and off the mat.
