If you want a compact, lightweight camera with a metal body built for long-term durability on a bike rack or standard rear mount, choose GreenYi Car Backup Camera; if you need a versatile unit that handles both front and rear mounting with flexible video signal options, choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View.
• GreenYi shines with its small, solid metal housing and dynamic trajectory lines that adjust to your steering, making it ideal for tight spaces where weight matters.
• aSATAH offers superior versatility with a 1/2.7-inch sensor and the unique ability to flip the image for front or rear use, though it is significantly larger and heavier.
• Choose GreenYi if you prioritize a sleek, shockproof design that fits flush against a license plate without adding bulk to a bike rack setup.
• Choose aSATAH if you need a single camera solution that can serve dual purposes (front and back) and works with both AHD and CVBS monitors.
The GreenYi Car Backup Camera is engineered for drivers who value precision engineering and a minimalist footprint. Its standout feature is the combination of a high-quality CCD image sensor and a 170-degree wide viewing angle. This specific sensor setup, paired with a low light flux capability, ensures that night vision remains clear even in challenging conditions. For anyone relying on this camera while towing a trailer or riding a bike with a rack, the clarity provided by the 960x720 resolution is crucial. You need to see exactly where your rear wheels are relative to obstacles, and the fisheye lens covers most blind spots effectively without creating a distorted mess.
What truly sets this unit apart for practical, everyday use is the adjustable metal housing. Unlike older models that require shims or gaskets to get the angle right, GreenYi allows you to rotate the lens part directly using a mini wrench included in the package. This means you can fine-tune the view so it isn't too high or too low, which is a common frustration when installing cameras on uneven surfaces like truck beds or bike racks. The housing itself is described as a "shining metal" build that is shockproof, suggesting it can withstand the vibrations and bumps inherent in driving, especially when carrying extra cargo like bicycles.
However, this camera is not for everyone. It is designed specifically for monitors that support RCA connections, and it does not work with modern dash cams, GPS units, or mirror cams. If you have an older radio head unit or a standalone monitor, this is a great fit. But if you are looking for a camera that integrates seamlessly into a digital dashboard system without RCA inputs, you will hit a wall. Additionally, the dynamic trajectory guide line is a brilliant feature, but it requires a physical connection to function correctly. You can cut the switcher cable to disable it permanently, but you must reconnect power after any modification. This product is best suited for those who want a rugged, no-nonsense backup solution that feels solid in their hands and doesn't wobble under pressure.
The aSATAH Car Backup/Front View Camera is a powerhouse of flexibility, designed for the driver who might want to use the same device in multiple locations or needs a robust image processor. The most significant differentiator here is the sensor technology. In plain terms, this larger sensor captures more light and detail, resulting in excellent images across various light environments. Combined with noise reduction and powerful image processing, the visual output is generally clearer and sharper than standard budget cameras, particularly in low-light scenarios where other cameras might produce grainy footage.

Another major advantage for users with mixed vehicle setups is the dual-signal capability. By default, this camera outputs an AHD signal, which provides much clearer images than traditional CVBS signals. However, if you have an older monitor that only accepts CVBS, you can simply cut the white cable on the camera to switch modes. This level of compatibility saves you from having to buy a new monitor just to make the camera work. Furthermore, the ability to flip the camera image by cutting the orange cable is a game-changer. You can install this single unit on the rear of your vehicle and then move it to the front for a forward-facing view later, simply by flipping the logic of the image output.
That said, the trade-offs are physical. This extra mass comes from the sturdy housing designed to meet the IP69 waterproof rating, which involves nano sealant infusion and can withstand being immersed in water. While this sounds impressive, it makes the unit bulkier. If you are mounting this on a bike rack or a thin license plate frame, the size might feel cumbersome compared to the sleeker GreenYi. Also, like its competitor, it strictly requires an RCA connector, meaning it is incompatible with modern wireless or digital-only systems. This camera is perfect for someone who wants a premium image quality and the freedom to reconfigure their setup between front and rear duties.
• Best for Bike Rack Mounting: Choose GreenYi Car Backup Camera.
• Best Image Quality in Low Light: Choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View. The 1/2.7-inch sensor and advanced noise reduction processing provide a tangible advantage in darkness compared to the standard CCD sensor in the GreenYi.
• Best for Front/Rear Versatility: Choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View. Only this model offers the ability to physically flip the image orientation via a simple wire cut, allowing one camera to serve two distinct mounting positions.
• Best Build Durability for Vibrations: Choose GreenYi Car Backup Camera. The rotating metal body is explicitly marketed as shockproof, offering a solid feel that resists the loosening often seen in plastic-heavy housings during rough rides.
• Best Monitor Compatibility: Choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View. With the option to switch between AHD and CVBS signals, it works with a wider range of existing monitors without requiring you to upgrade your display hardware.
• Best Waterproofing Specs: Choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View. While both are highly water-resistant, aSATAH claims an IP69 rating with nano sealant, suggesting a higher tolerance for extreme submersion than the IP68 rating of the GreenYi.
• Best for Dynamic Guidance: Both offer adjustable guide lines, but GreenYi focuses on the trajectory line changing automatically with steering direction, whereas aSATAH focuses on the clarity of the line and the ability to toggle it completely off.
• Best Value for Dual Use: Choose aSATAH Car Backup/Front View. If you plan to eventually use the camera for a front-view assist or need to swap it out, buying one unit that does both jobs is more cost-effective than buying two separate cameras.
In my opinion, I would choose the GreenYi Car Backup Camera for my own setup, specifically because I am considering mounting it on a bike rack. The sheer difference in weight and size makes it the superior choice for that application. A heavy, bulky camera like the aSATAH could potentially cause balance issues or snag on gear when cycling, whereas the GreenYi's tiny, metal-shelled design feels like it belongs there. The rotating lens adjustment is also a critical feature I cannot overlook; being able to dial in the exact angle with a wrench ensures I don't have to compromise on visibility. While the aSATAH has a better sensor and more signal options, the GreenYi's focus on a durable, shockproof, and compact form factor aligns perfectly with the demands of active, outdoor vehicle use. If you aren't mounting it on a bike rack and need the front-view flexibility, the aSATAH becomes the winner, but for a dedicated, reliable rear view that stays put, GreenYi is the one.
Both the GreenYi and aSATAH cameras require a monitor or head unit that supports an RCA connection. They are not compatible with modern dash cams, GPS units, or mirror cams that lack RCA inputs. You must ensure your current screen has the appropriate video input ports before purchasing either unit.
Both brands allow you to customize the camera behavior through simple wire modifications. For GreenYi, you cut a green switcher cable to turn off the dynamic trajectory line. For aSATAH, you cut a white cable to switch from AHD to CVBS mode, or a green loop to remove the guide line entirely. Both require you to disconnect and reconnect power after making these cuts.
The GreenYi features a solid metal housing that is explicitly described as shockproof, making it excellent for handling vibrations on bumpy roads or bike racks. The aSATAH boasts an IP69 rating with nano sealant, indicating superior protection against water immersion. If you prioritize impact resistance and weight, go GreenYi; if you expect deep water exposure, aSATAH holds the edge.
Yes, the aSATAH camera is designed to be flipped for front or rear installation. By cutting the orange cable on the unit, you can reverse the image output, allowing you to install the same camera on the front bumper and have the image displayed correctly on your monitor. The GreenYi is designed specifically for rear use and does not offer this image-flipping capability.
