This Green Lantern's real name was Alan Scott, a railroad engineer who, after a railway crash, came into possession of a magic lantern which spoke to him and said it would bring power. From this, he crafted a magic ring that gave him a wide variety of powers. The limitations of the ring were that it had to be "charged" every 24 hours by touching it to the lantern for a time and that it could not directly affect objects made of wood. Alan Scott fought mostly ordinary human villains, but he did have a few paranormal ones such as the immortal Vandal Savage and the zombie Solomon Grundy. Most stories took place in New York. Green lantern rings are made from magic.

In 2011, the Alan Scott character was revamped. His costume was redesigned to be all green and the source of his powers was changed to that of the mystical power of nature (referred to in the stories as "the Green").

Each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants them a variety of abilities. The ring is powered by willpower. The full extent of the ring's abilities has never been rigorously defined in the stories, but two consistent traits are that it grants the power of flight and that all of its effects are accompanied by a green light.

Green Lantern is a name that has been used by many characters in the DC Universe, appearing in two distinct legacies. The original (during the Golden Age) was businessman Alan Scott, who wore a magic power ring that created energy constructs and had to be charged using his mystic lantern.

A heroic figure driven by unwavering courage, a sense of justice, and a compassionate heart. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and commitment to protecting the innocent make you a symbol of hope and inspiration. With this power ring, you harnesses the energy of willpower to overcome the greatest of challenges and illuminate the darkness with his green light.

I have been wearing the ring for about a month now. Using the provided sizer provided the exact size I needed. The ring is great. I wanted a green lantern band, but I did not want it to be "flashy." This color combination works great. Subtle but noticeable. The only knock is that the ring is supposed to glow in the dark. It does glow, faintly. I only notice it if I wake up in the middle of the night. I can accept that, but I was hoping the GL symbol itself would glow. It doesn't which is why I say 4.5 out of 5 stars. The glow comes from the green band in the center of the ring.

Everyone talks about flash and how he died quickly and other characters but green lantern straight up disappears from the movie after Superman takes his ring. Same with raven, like where did she go?

The Green Lantern Corps is a fictional, intergalactic peacekeeping entity that exists in DC comics. Members of the Corps get a power ring that capable of creating green energy projections of almost unlimited power. The only constraint is the willpower and imagination of the ring's wearer. There was a long period of time when the ring was ineffective against the color yellow but in more recent comics that's just "the Parallax fear anomaly" at work and with enough courage and willpower, the ring works just fine against the color yellow.

Taking your drill with a hole saw bit (the kind you might install a deadlock with) drill out a hole at the base (for the lantern light to shine through), and two side holes for the light to shine from.

We want to leave the base cone to be able to be opened to access the lantern light (and change batteries etc). So we first want to glue 2/3 of the bottom cone to the base of the bauble, as this is where the light with the final 1/3 will be attached later.

Disassemble the lantern and glue it to the bottom flower pot tray, making sure that the lantern light is centered and it can fit into the bauble.

The top cone may now be enclosed by gluing the flower pot tray onto one of the cut flower pot cones. We can now glue this cone to the top of the bauble.

Cut out a Green Lantern symbol with a craft knife and glue it to the top cone (match orientation with the lantern itself). I would suggest printing the symbol out and gluing the symbol to the foam as a template guide.

Sand the surface of the lantern, wiping off any dust to prepare for painting.

Place the lantern on a box or hang it from something before painting. Spray paint gets everywhere so perhaps do this in your garage or somewhere sheltered outside. I would suggest wearing a mask and perhaps eye protection. Keep the spray can about a foot away from the lantern (it is better to do many light coats than one heavy one). I would recommend using forest green metal hammer effect spray paint.

I placed a couple of tissues in through the side cones to protect the lantern LEDs.

Glue the green lids over each side hole. I found a slightly lime green color seems to create a fantastic green glow illusion.

You can attach the base by drilling through the bottom of the bauble and bottom cone base and attaching bolts. Also, you may like to have the switch to turn the lantern on underneath by drilling an additional hole in the base.

Here is my version based on your design. I deviated slightly, using a 6" bauble. For the lenses I used 2 clear acrylic hemispheres, which I painted with transparent glass paint. The paint ended up being TOO transparent, so I hit it with a coat of Frost Glass paint. That worked fairly well. Also, the lantern I used had a bottom battery compartment, so I cut a whole in the base cone bottom so you can access the battery door without taking the base of the lantern off.

Thanks again for the instructions!

The double page spread of the law enforcement convention on planet Oa features a number of interplanetary or interstellar agencies from DC’s long history – the lawman Xanthos of Zarala is from Mystery in Space # 76. The Watchdogs of the Universe appear, or rather don’t appear on account of being completely invisible, in Strange Adventures #62. We also see representatives from Thanagar home of space polis Hawkman and Hawkwoman. Captain Comet is there, albeit colored green instead of red with Elvith of the Cometeers/nee Wanderers. A delegation from the Superwatch can be seen along with Adam Strange and Alanna of Rann. There’s an apologetic Lovercraftian alien, and a Judge Dredd expy called Jujj Plodd.

The concept that the Blue Lanterns, the Green Lanterns, and the Star Sapphires will all need to share Oa as a central base seems like a poor idea. One of the better ideas that was created alongside the emotional spectrum is the idea that each color is unique and relates to the others in different ways. While the blue and green energies are very complementary to each other, the energy of love is vastly different. The further away from the center of the spectrum and the less the ring-wearer controls the emotion and the emotion controls the wearer. So color me not a fan of this at all.

The ring of the green lantern is a very potent artifact with many capabilities. Each ring can be charged by a green lantern battery and can hold a maximum of 50 charges. The Ring constantly gives the wearer the benefits of the spells shield, mage armor, and fly as long as there is 1 charge remaining in the Ring.

All effects created by the Ring are colored green. To affect any creature or object colored yellow, the wearer of the ring must make a caster level check (with a bonus equal to their hit die plus their highest mental attribute) equal to a DC of 20 + double the spell level used from the ring.

A wearer of one of the green lantern rings can call forth one of the batteries from a demiplane where the lanterns reside normally. Using a lantern to recharge a ring takes a full minute of uninterrupted concentration, after which the ring is restored to full power.

These emerald lanterns seem to be made of pure energy. It's sole purpose is to recharge the ring of the green lantern, though other uses could exist. A wearer of one of the green lantern rings can call forth one of the batteries from a demiplane where the lanterns reside normally. Using a lantern to recharge a ring takes a full minute of uninterrupted concentration, after which the ring is restored to full power.

The various "hand" spells and other force spells colored green should be added too. And I agree with griff the charges need to be more or no charges, the ring must be recharged every 24 hours, and every effect of the ring requires a will save to use it. Yellow objects, creatures, and characters wearing yellow should require either SR penetration or an obscene will save to affect.

... great, as I'm typing this I think up how to do it. SR = 10 + HD for creatures, or SR = 10 + Hardness for objects. Creatures or objects that already have SR use their own, or the one granted by the yellow, whichever is higher. Creatures with Spell Immunity are not immune to the effects of the ring of the green lanterns.

But if you really want to capture the ring's usage in the DC universe, I'd recommend its abilities requiring an emotion and/or thought component as written in Occult Adventures. After all, using a green ring requires emotional clarity and extreme concentration.

So, they become pals. Sinestro finds a kindred spirit in Hal, and so invites him to pop over, like a good neighbour. Hal discovers that Sinestro has enforced order on his sector as something of a fascist dictator. Which is totally not within the terms and conditions of the green power ring.

Now one thing that might bring it closer is if one could somehow disconnect the object-flinging power Propel from Gravity Control, then plug it into whatever powerset you settle upon, then get the ability to color as green all objects you are hurling. ff782bc1db
