The Green Energy Research Lab, located in the Department of Physics at Netaji Nagar College for Women, Kolkata, is a dedicated research centre focused on developing innovative materials and technologies for sustainable energy generation and storage. Under the leadership of Dr. Pradip Thakur, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physics, the lab strives to address global energy challenges through scientific innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The lab’s primary research areas include the design and development of electro-active polymer nanocomposites for self-charged photo-power cells and the fabrication of polymeric piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators for efficient clean energy harvesting. It also explores the integration of renewable energy sources with advanced energy-storage systems, aiming to create practical and eco-friendly solutions for the future.
Equipped with modern instruments and supported by research grants from the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the Green Energy Research Lab provides a dynamic platform for young researchers and scholars. The environment encourages creativity, collaboration, and innovation in the pursuit of sustainable technologies.
The lab welcomes students, researchers, and collaborators who share a vision for a cleaner, greener future. To learn more about ongoing projects, research publications, and opportunities for partnership.
