Ruby-throated Hummingbird - RTHU

Regular flight species with distinctive size/shape and fast forward speed.

Flight lines are usually broad, with a strong onshore head wind required for stronger concentration (unlike most other species). May travel in small, loose groups of 2-5 birds during large movements. 

Sometimes chases other morning flight participants. 

Chimney Swift - CHSW

Regular flight species with distinctive size/shape and fast forward speed.

Flight lines somewhat variable, with lowest flights and highest concentrations during adverse weather reverse migration. Often travels in small groups of 2-5 individuals. 

Bank Swallow - BANS

A small, fast, pointy and somewhat erratic swallow. Often travels in loose groups and will mix with other swallow species. 

Paler sandy brown upper side noticeable in most light conditions. White throat and subtle collar contrasts strongly with uniform dusky head of NRWS. Young TRES in fall larger, stronger and less erratic in flight.
