What's the cost?

• $1,399 based on double occupancy ($350 single occupancy surcharge)

What's included?

• 7 nights of lodging: 6 nights in Oaxaca and 1 night in the Sierra Norte mountain cabin.

• 7 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 3 dinners

• Ground transportation in Oaxaca between destinations (including airport transfer, but excluding airfare)

• Cooking class

• Guided hike in the Sierra Norte Mountains 

• Guided tours of Monte Alban, Hierve el Agua, Tule tree, mezcal distillery, and an alebrije workshop.

• Experiencing the Guelaguetza Festival

• A balance of both support and freedom throughout each step of this adventure with us.​

How big will the group be?

• We are limiting the group size to 12 guests.

Who will be our guides?

• Two Great Laurel Adventures staff (including me) will be with you throughout the trip.  There will be additional local guides for the tours and shuttle drivers.

Can I come by myself, with a friend, with a few friends?

• Yes!  To all of the above, as long as you are open to meeting new people and building community, then you and/or your group is welcome.

Is Oaxaca safe?

• Both Oaxaca and the towns we will be visiting in the Sierra Norte mountains that we will be visiting are very safe. Safety can never be 100% guaranteed, it is always a good idea to use common sense while traveling.

What if my flight doesn’t arrive or leave within the scheduled time for the shuttle?

• We will work with you to help you arrange transport (there may be an additional cost). We’re here to help you every step of the way.

What if I want to add on extra days at the beginning or the end of the trip?

• We will work with you to help you arrange additional accomodations. We’re here to help you every step of the way.

What if I am traveling by myself, but I would like to share a room?

• We will do our best to find someone else coming that is also looking for someone to share a room with.

Do I need a passport?

• Yes, and it cannot expire 6 months or less than the travel dates. So, your passport would need to expire after January 25th, 2027.

How inclusive is the term “women”?

• We welcome all women, no matter their background, including transgender women. If you identify as a woman and you are looking for community and a travel adventure, then you belong.

When is payment due?

• A $500 deposit is due when you book your trip.  The remaining balance is due by May 1st, 2026.

What is the cancellation policy?

• If someone else books the trip in your place (i.e. the trip is sold out and someone from the waiting list books in your place), full refund of payment minus $150 cancellation fee.  Otherwise, if the trip is not sold out and there is no waiting list, then the cancellation fee is your full deposit.
