About:
Established 2013 we are a small community based Judo club that offer sessions to all school age children. Tessa Sanderson Foundation- Grays Judo Club has been engaging children and young people in the Olympic sport of judo since 2013. Known as ‘The Gentle Way’, judo teaches children important moral values such as respect, discipline and self-control; while also building their fundamental motor skills, speed, agility and stamina. Our players regularly compete in judo competitions on a regional and national level, with two members currently part of the England Talent Development Squad (ETD).
The main passion of the club is to help whole families develop active lifestyles, create friendships, and build a greater sense of community in the area. In an increasingly digital age where children are particularly negatively impacted by excessive screen time, we provide a safe and affordable environment where children- no matter their age or background- can use all of their incredible energy productively. We want to help children and young people gain confidence, build their self-esteem and reach their full athletic potential- all while having fun and keeping active!
