If you want a robust gooseneck hitch ball kit with a push-latch puck system for heavy-duty towing on Ford, Chevy, or Nissan trucks, choose Grandroad auto 60692; if you need an interior switch replacement to restore factory trailer braking control on specific Ram models, choose YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control.
These two products solve completely different problems for truck owners, yet they both appear in searches for towing hardware. One is a massive, external towing interface designed to handle tens of thousands of pounds of gross trailer weight, while the other is a small, internal electronic component meant to fix a missing or broken brake controller function. Trying to compare them directly is like comparing a hammer to a screwdriver; the utility depends entirely on whether you are loading a bike rack onto a bed or trying to stop a loaded trailer from rolling away.
• Its trade-off is its sheer physical bulk and weight, making it a permanent fixture rather than a quick swap for light utility. This pick is for heavy haulers needing a secure, high-strength connection point for gooseneck trailers or large equipment racks.
• YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control: Its biggest strength is the exact part number match (68309259AC) that restores factory functionality inside the cab without any vehicle modification. Its trade-off is extreme specificity, as it only works on 2019-2024 Ram trucks and cannot be used for any other make or model. This pick is strictly for Ram owners who lost their brake control switch and need a direct OEM-style replacement.
The Grandroad auto 60692 is engineered for the serious tow operator who needs more than just a basic ball mount. This isn't a generic accessory; it is a full gooseneck hitch ball kit built to exceed original equipment manufacturer standards. That capacity speaks to the intended user: someone hauling livestock, heavy construction equipment, or large fifth-wheel style setups where safety margins are non-negotiable.
Installation is a major selling point for those who already own a truck with the puck system. Unlike older methods that require drilling into the bed floor, this kit utilizes a universal gooseneck puck that slides into the hockey puck hole. The mechanism relies on a simple thumb press to engage the control button, allowing for effortless insertion and removal. You do not need special tools or professional mechanics to get this done. Once installed, the chrome-plated forged ball and cast steel anchors provide a secure connection that resists corrosion thanks to the durable carbide black powder coat finish.

This product is ideal for owners of 2013-2026 Ford Super Duty trucks (F-250, F-350, F-450), 2016-2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD models, 2016-2026 GMC Sierra HD models, and 2016-2026 Nissan Titan XD vehicles. If you frequently move heavy gear or need a reliable anchor point for a bike rack setup that requires substantial stability, this is the hardware you need.
In stark contrast to the heavy-duty external hardware of the Grandroad unit, the YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control is a precise, interior-focused component. Its entire purpose is to replace a faulty or missing switch within the vehicle cabin. If your Ram truck has stopped responding when you try to activate trailer brakes, or if the switch fell out and was never replaced, this module is the solution. It is not an add-on feature that gives you new capabilities; it is a restoration part designed to bring your truck back to its original factory specifications.
The compatibility here is extremely narrow but critical. This unit is made specifically for Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 trucks manufactured between the model years 2019 and 2024. It matches the specific identification number 68309259AC, ensuring that the electronics speak the same language as the rest of your truck's system. There is no need for complex wiring harnesses or aftermarket programming because it is a direct replacement.
This product is exclusively for Ram owners dealing with a broken brake control interface. If you have a Ford, Chevy, or Nissan, this item will not fit or function. Even if you have a Ram, it will not work on models outside the 2019-2024 window. The value lies in the simplicity of the swap: you remove the old switch and install this one to regain standard trailer braking control operations. It does not offer enhanced braking power or smart features; it simply restores the functionality that should have been there from the factory.
• Best for Heavy Hauling Capacity → Grandroad auto 60692
The YGrenduvev switch does nothing to increase towing capacity.
• Best for Interior Restoration → YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control
If your problem is located inside the cab and involves a missing or broken switch, the Grandroad ball kit cannot help you. Only the YGrenduvev module addresses this specific failure point.
• Best for Compatibility Range → Grandroad auto 60692
While both have limits, Grandroad covers four major brands (Ford, Chevy, GMC, Nissan) across multiple years, whereas YGrenduvev is locked to a single brand and five specific model years.
• Best for Installation Simplicity (No Drilling) → Grandroad auto 60692
Both are straightforward, but Grandroad uses a push-latch puck system that requires zero modifications to the truck bed, appealing to those who want to keep their beds pristine.
• Best for Specific Model Fitment → YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control
For 2019-2024 Rams, the exact part number match ensures a perfect fit without guessing, which is superior to universal adapters that might wobble or fail.
• Best for Durability Under Load → Grandroad auto 60692
The brake switch is a delicate electronic component not rated for physical stress.
• Best for Bike Rack Security → Grandroad auto 60692
When securing a bike rack or heavy cargo to a truck bed using a gooseneck puck, the Grandroad unit provides the necessary structural integrity and weight-bearing surface that a small interior switch cannot offer.
I would buy the Grandroad auto 60692 if my goal is to set up a reliable, high-strength towing platform for my truck bed. It is the clear choice for anyone looking to secure a bike rack or heavy trailer with confidence. Conversely, I would only consider the YGrenduvev Trailer Brake Control if I owned a 2019-2024 Ram and had discovered that my factory brake switch was broken. In that specific scenario, it is the only logical repair. Since most people asking about these terms are likely looking to upgrade their towing capability rather than fix a dashboard glitch, the Grandroad unit stands out as the more impactful purchase for general truck ownership.
No, the product data explicitly states that it requires a Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, or Nissan puck system for installation. It will not fit trucks that lack these pre-installed mounting points.
According to the compatibility list, this module is designed for model years 2019 through 2024. It is not listed as compatible with the 2018 model year.
This makes it a substantial piece of equipment compared to lighter hitch accessories.
No, the product description states it is intended for restoring factory specifications without modifying existing systems. It replaces a missing switch but does not add new functionality to a vehicle that lacked the system entirely.
