Hi folks, so I've been tempted to try Gran Turismo 7 since getting my PS5 but I'm not sure if it's for me. Haven't played a GT game for some years and tended towards the Forza Motorsport games. But I was surprised to see that there wasn't a demo for the game. I'm not sure I want to put down a good 50 - 70 only to find it might not feel right for me. I have thought about getting a retail version but I would like to know if there's any chance of them releasing a new demo at any point.

While most demos of Gran Turismo outside Japan tend to be part of demo disc compilations, one stand-alone demo distributed for American players was made available (SCUS-94257), with in-game files dated no later than March 3, 1998. Judging by the contents of the simulation mode, it appears that the localization process is still in progress, and both European and American versions were localized simultaneously. The Honda NSX Type S, Chevrolet Corvette and a race-modified Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version III are playable in Clubman Stage Route 5. Unlike some other demos, there are no in-race time limit; only a hidden time-bomb that returns you to demo replay if you sit too long exists. In addition, choosing the Impreza won't get you racing car opponents.

As a curiosity, this is the only demo released outside Japan that allows access to simulation mode - all other non-Japanese demos lock out access to Simulation Mode. However, only the dealerships and Car Wash are accessible.

This demo still has the Japanese opening (with "Moon over the Castle" and Polys Entertainment logo in the beginning) and ending background FMV (with "Second Chance" as the ending theme), both unused as the intro is replaced by a replay demo and the ending credits are inaccessible.

Greetings Gran Turismo fans! Now that we are in the final countdown to the launch of GT Sport, we thought there was no better way to show our appreciation than by giving the PS community a head start on their racing journey. We are excited to announce a free GT Sport 4-day demo, available via PlayStation Store from October 9th through October 12th.

PS Plus members will be able to pre-load the demo starting from October 7th at 8:00am PT, with access to the game on October 9th, at 12:00am PT. For everyone else, download and access to the demo starts October 9th at 6:00pm PT. The demo officially ends October 12th at 8:00am PT.

At the start of the demo, drivers will have the option to experience a taste of Sport, Campaign, or Arcade mode. New features such as the innovative Scapes Photography mode and Custom Livery Editor are also available for the very first time.

To round out the demo experience, the Livery Editor allows you to add your own personal touch of customization through numerous logo designs. You can also change the color of the car, wheels, mirrors, hood, spoiler, and much more.

The appeal of the Gran Turismo series is due significantly to its graphics, a large number of licensed vehicles, attention to vehicle detail, accurate driving physics emulation, and the ability to tune performance, hence the subtitle "The Real Driving Simulator", incorporated to the franchise's iconography since Gran Turismo 4. Handling of the vehicles is modeled on real-life driving impressions, tuning is based on principles of physics, and the sound of the vehicle's engine is based on recordings of the actual vehicles. The game has been a flagship for the PlayStation console's graphics capabilities, and is often used to demonstrate the system's potential.

From TCRF:"This very early demo build, using the old Gran Turismo 2000 name features updated graphics from Gran Turismo 2. It features only one drivable car, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR '98, which can only be driven around Seattle Circuit. There's a time limit of 2 minutes before the player is booted back to the menu. This demo is considered to be very rare."

Gran Turismo Sport is set to arrive on PlayStation 4 later in October, but Sony and Polyphony Digital are looking to get to the starting line a little early. It was announced Tuesday morning that GT Sport would get a special demo set to launch on Monday, October 9, with all in-game progress set to carry over to the main game.

According to PlayStation.Blog, PlayStation Plus members can jump right into the demo on October 9 at 12AM PT. The rest of the PlayStation 4 faithful can start their engines on that same day at 6PM PT. The demo is set to last through October 12 at 8AM PT.

The demo will feature Sport, Campaign, Arcade, Scapes Photography, and Custom Livery Editor. Those playing in the campaign can start unlocking vehicles, in-game currency, and experience out of the gate. As mentioned, any progress earned will count towards the main game when Gran Turismo Sport releases in full. Players can also customize their unlocks with the Custom Livery Editor or take photos of their cars with the detailed real-world backdrops in the Scapes Photography mode. Those playing around in Arcade mode can also play with a friend via local split-screen.

The demo will allow contestants to set and submit qualifying times in the first round of the competition. Like previous years, contestants will start with slower cars like the Leaf and Juke, and then make their way up to the 370Z and GT-R.

Gran Turismo Sport is just days away from release, but you don't have to wait for launch in order to try it out. Sony has released a demo of its signature racing game on PS4, although its availability is more like that of a beta, rather than a traditional demo.

Only one circuit is supplied with the demo, the Formula One track at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and two cars are available, a track-ready version of Nissan's 370Z and its road-going cousin. Predictably, the track version almost handles as if it's on rails, with the road car feeling slow and ponderous on the track.

If you've ever dreamt of being Michael Schumacher, Fangio or Tazio Nuvolari, then this free download for the PS3 is a must have. Qualifying times for the second GT Academy are open from 17 December 2009 until 24 January 2010. After that the demo may no longer function and we'll have to go back to GT5 Prologue and counting down the days.

Sony's blog explains that the demo doubles up as an entry to the next round of GT Academy, a training program that lets players compete for a spot to race for real with Nissan. The competition runs from today until July 28. The demo itself will stay live until August 31.

The free download won't feature online play, series producer Kazunori Yamauchi told Famitsu, but it will offer network rankings based on times achieved in different cars. He also revealed that the demo will include Polyphony's next-gen driving-simulation engine, which aims to fix areas like drift control and drift angle.

Earlier this month, Sony and Polyphony announced they were scrapping plans for a full version of GTHD and focusing on GT5 instead. The result of which is this 'concept' demo, one of many downloads that will be released before GT5's 2008 release.

Wrote NeoGAF user spats: "I attended the 'Dramatic 4K experience' at the Sony building yesterday and got to play the Gran Turismo 4K demo, too. I was left really impressed by the whole thing, but there were a few small technical things I noticed: mainly tearing and pop in.

"Then I don't remember if the spectators actually popped in or out on Eiger Nordwand (I don't think they did) but in the 4K demo a fair amount of them disappeared when you drove close enough to them. There seemed to be be some new or custom UI too.

Nissan's Director of Global Motorsport, Darren Cox, revealed the plans for GT Academy 2013 today. Speaking at the famous Silverstone Circuit, during an event at which the latest version of the famous Gran Turismo game was announced, he said: "Every year of GT Academy has provided excitement and firsts, and 2013 will be no exception. The selection process and Driver Development Program are now so robust that we are turning out some genuinely fast racing drivers. At its core GT Academy remains a highly-accessible route into professional motor racing for people who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Unearthing genuine driving talent from the world of gaming is a real example of digital age performance and the innovation for which Nissan is famous. We are predicting that more people than ever will enter the competition this year on the stunning new GT6 demo." 006ab0faaa
