GrammarLex Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the GrammarLex iOS application (the “App,” “GrammarLex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information. It applies to the GrammarLex app distributed through Apple’s App Store.

1. Summary

GrammarLex is an educational app for learning English grammar, sentence structure, tense, translation, exercises, and quizzes. The App does not require an account. Most learning activity and preferences are stored locally on your device.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use information received directly from you for unrelated advertising or sell it to data brokers.

GrammarLex uses third-party services for advertising, speech recognition, and other Apple platform services required by optional App features. Those providers may process information as described below and under their own privacy policies.

2. Information Processed by the App

Depending on the features you choose to use, GrammarLex may process:

• App settings and preferences.

• Learning activity, exercise and quiz progress, scores, history, favorites, saved content, and locally created study data.

• Text you enter for exercises, translation, search, notes, or other learning features.

• Backup or export files that you explicitly create, import, save, or share.

• Camera images or frames and extracted text when you choose an OCR or text-capture feature.

• Microphone audio and speech-recognition results when you choose pronunciation, reading, or speech features.

• Notification preferences and locally scheduled reminder information.

• Your email address, message, and any information you include if you voluntarily contact support or send feedback.

3. Local Storage and Developer Access

Most GrammarLex data—including settings, progress, history, favorites, saved learning content, and locally generated results—is stored on your device.

We do not operate a GrammarLex user-account server and do not directly receive this local data during ordinary use.

Data leaves your device only when required by a feature or when you choose to share it, such as using speech recognition, requesting an advertisement, exporting a backup, opening an external link, or contacting support.

4. Permissions and Feature-Specific Processing

GrammarLex requests system permission only when needed for an optional feature.

Camera

Used for OCR or text capture. Captured content is used to produce the result you requested. GrammarLex does not upload camera content to a developer-operated server.

Microphone and Speech Recognition

Used for pronunciation, reading, and speech exercises. Apple’s speech services may process audio or transcripts on your device or Apple’s systems depending on your device, language, settings, and service availability.

Notifications

Used to deliver learning reminders or Word of the Day notifications that you enable.

Files

Used when you choose to import, export, back up, or restore app data.

You may deny or later revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. The related optional feature may stop working if its permission is unavailable.

5. Advertising

The free version of GrammarLex may display advertisements provided by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

Google and its partners may process information such as:

• Device and app identifiers.

• IP address and general location derived from it.

• Device, operating-system, language, and app information.

• Advertisement impressions, clicks, interactions, and diagnostics.

• Advertising identifiers or tracking information where allowed by your iOS settings, consent choices, and applicable law.

Advertising may be personalized or non-personalized depending on consent, region, age-related settings, and device configuration.

GrammarLex does not control the content of third-party advertisements.

6. Third-Party Services and Sharing

GrammarLex may share or make information available only as needed to provide a feature, comply with law, protect users or the App, or with your direction.

Relevant recipients may include:

• Google Mobile Ads and its advertising partners for displaying and measuring advertisements.

• Apple for speech recognition, permissions, notifications, and other platform services used by the App.

• Your selected email, file, sharing, or backup provider when you choose to use those services.

• Authorities or other parties if disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce rights, or address fraud, security, or safety concerns.

Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We require providers we select to handle information consistently with applicable privacy and security obligations.

7. Legal Bases

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, information is processed:

• With your consent, such as optional permissions or consent-based advertising.

• To provide features you request.

• For legitimate interests such as app security, fraud prevention, support, diagnostics, and improving reliability, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

• To comply with legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent at any time through the App, iOS Settings, applicable consent controls, or by contacting us.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

8. Retention and Deletion

On-device data

Remains until you delete it using available in-app controls, reset the App, remove an exported file, or uninstall GrammarLex.

Backups and exports

Remain wherever you chose to save or share them until you delete them from that location.

Support email

May be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, prevent repeated support issues, maintain business records, or meet legal requirements.

Routine support correspondence is generally deleted or anonymized within 24 months after the matter is closed unless a longer period is required by law or an ongoing dispute.

Apple and Google data

Is retained according to the applicable provider’s policy and your account or device controls.

Because GrammarLex does not provide user accounts, we normally cannot identify or delete data stored only on your device.

You can remove that data using in-app deletion/reset tools where available or by uninstalling the App.

To request deletion of information you sent directly to us, email:

android.alwayz@gmail.com

Please include enough detail to identify the correspondence.

9. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information, or to receive a portable copy.

You may also:

• Disable camera, microphone, speech-recognition, or notification access in iOS Settings.

• Change Apple advertising and tracking choices in iOS Settings.

• Use available consent controls to change advertising choices.

• Delete local app data using available GrammarLex controls or by uninstalling the App.

• Delete backups or exported files from the location where you saved them.

• Contact us to request access to or deletion of support information that we hold.

We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

You may also complain to your local data-protection authority where applicable.

10. Children’s Privacy

GrammarLex is an educational app but is not directed specifically to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the minimum age required by applicable law.

If you believe a child provided personal information directly to us, contact:

android.alwayz@gmail.com

We will review and delete it where required.

Parents and guardians should supervise optional permissions, external links, and advertising choices for younger users.

App Store age-rating and Made for Kids settings must accurately reflect how the App is distributed.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the information.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Keep your device, Apple account, exported files, and backups protected.

12. International Processing

Apple, Google, email providers, and other selected services may process information in countries other than your own.

Their privacy policies describe applicable transfer safeguards.

Where legally required, we rely on recognized safeguards or provider contractual protections.

13. Educational Content and Accuracy

GrammarLex is provided for educational and reference purposes.

Its lessons, examples, exercises, quiz answers, translations, definitions, and other content may contain mistakes, omissions, or outdated information.

Please report errors to us.

We will review reported mistakes and correct confirmed issues in a future update.

Do not rely on GrammarLex as professional, legal, medical, financial, or other expert advice.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when GrammarLex, its service providers, or legal requirements change.

We will post the revised policy at the public Privacy Policy URL and update the effective date.

Material changes may also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
