Volterra (PI), Italy, June 3-7 2024
GRADISCO 2024 is a summer school in combinatorics for advanced master students, PhD students and young researchers. The goal of the school is to introduce early-career scientists to
core research topics on combinatorial structures in geometry and topology;
core research topics on combinatorial structures in algebra, enumeration and probability;
essential tools for conducting research in the above combinatorial topics, like the free open-source software SageMath.
In addition to attending the courses, the young participants will benefit from being able to interact with leading experts in the field, and to communicate their own results and research problems. Furthermore, the peculiar outlying location of the school will help the integration of younger participants, fostering collaborations and networking.
The activities will start on Monday June 3rd in the morning, and they will end on Friday June 7th by lunch time. You are expected to arrive on Sunday June 2nd and to leave on Friday June 7th. The local expenses, including accomodation and all the meals except the social dinner, amount to ~600 euros.
If you would like to participate, please press the button below and fill in the application form now! In the form you will be asked if you need funding: note that this is only for the local expenses, we do not cover travel expenses. Moreover, as we can accept only a limited number of participants we strongly recommend not to ask for funding if you have your own.
The EXTENDED deadline for the application is February 26th.
GRADISCO takes place at SIAF (Scuola di Alta Formazione). The center provides accomodation, rooms for the courses as well as the space for collaborations and several facilities. It is located just outside the beautiful city of Volterra, in Tuscany.
