The FCAT 2.0 Sample Test and Answer Key Books were produced to prepare students to take the tests in mathematics (grades 3-8) and reading (grades 3-10). Sample Test and Answer Key Books for grades 5 and 8 science are available on the Statewide Science Assessment page. The Sample Question Books are designed to help students become familiar with FCAT 2.0 questions and to offer students practice answering questions in different formats. The Sample Answer Keys are designed to be used by teachers to explain to students the answers and solutions to the questions in the Sample Question Books and to identify which Next Generation Sunshine State Standards benchmark is being tested by the question.
As the Quartet series grows in popularity, I've noticed more people looking for the answer keys for the workbooks. For reasons known only to the publishers at the Japan Times, they haven't publicly shared the answer keys -- you had to ask for them. And again, for reasons unknown, they chose not to respond to some people who emailed them asking for the answer keys. About two years ago, I emailed the Japan Times for the answer key for the first book and posted a link to the PDF they sent me here.
With the release of the second book, a few people have PMed me asking if I had the answer key for the corresponding workbook as well. I figured since the answer keys seem to be getting shared more and more, I'd make a thread to share the links to both in one place.

Whenever you find yourself writing long chains of if-else statements, see if you can find a pattern and use a lookup table. Here, we have only 5 grade buckets, but what if we had 20 or 100? You can see the if-else approach isn't scalable.
In this case, if we use the string "FFFFFFDCBAA" then we've enumerated all 5 grade buckets in a way that lets us index into after dividing the score by 10. The code for that would be: "FFFFFFDCBAA"[score/10|0] where | 0 is the floor operation, chopping off the decimal. The extra "A" handles the case of 100.
This little device allows you to have any number of problems or questions in an assignment and calculates the grade. The easy grader prevents you from having to choose a basic number of questions for an assignment, such as 20, in order to make each question worth 5 points each. With a grading aid, having 27 or 34 questions is no problem. You can buy these for about $5 at teacher supply stores, or download a free one from my site. This article has been so helpful. I am a first year teacher and I have been caught in the paper trap. I refuse to have this continue to happen to me year after year. Everything you described has happened to me. I especially want to return graded papers back to my students in a timely manner. None of my colleagues had a CLEAR suggestion on how to MANAGE GRADES and NOT let the grades MANAGE ME! Thank you again , I will strive for the upcoming school year to be more efficient.

The purpose of written homework assignments is to get you thinkingabout the topics being covered in lecture and in readings in thetextbook which are not represented in the hands-on, programming labassignments. These written assignments also better prepare you forcourse examinations. It is worth noting that the book contains manypractice problems similar to the problems we ask on these writtenassignments. The solutions for those practice problems are located atthe end of each chapter and should give you a feel for the kind ofanswers we expect you to turn in for these kind of assignments.
Due to the large number of students in the class, we reserve theright to grade only a subset of the problems assigned in any writtenhomework assignment for correctness. However, we expect you to answerall of the questions in an assignment and therefore will take thatinto account when calculating your grade for an assignment. Forexample, if we choose only to grade the 1st and 4th questions inthis assignment, you would receive full credit for the assignment byanswering these problems correctly. However, if you were not toanswer all of the questions in an assignment, we would scale yourscore by a factor of num_questions_answered / num_questions_assigned.So in this example, if you only submitted answers to the 1st, 3rd and4th questions, you would receive only 3/4 of your score.
