Facilities, Equipment, Technology, & Materials
My lab redesign of Lincoln East High School’s woods lab shows that I have demonstrated an understanding of Managing Facilities, Equipment, Technology, and Materials. The lab redesign shows a comprehensive reflection of the current workplace with industry requirements and meets federal/state/local standards for OSHA. Additionally, the extra space I have added allows for students to have appropriate and equitable access to all necessary resources because there will be room for new equipment. As seen in the report, there are effective processes in place for maintaining, updating, and replacing resources, specifically equipment, as they age. Many of the facilities, equipment, technology, and materials reflect the current industry standards and practices because SCC gave input as to what they are seeing and how that will change. I will apply all of these ideas to my STS program by actively staying up-to-date on health and safety and providing my students with every opportunity to better their education.
My safety program demonstrates my understanding of managing facilities, equipment, technology, and materials. Its resources reflect current industry standards and practices, and it follows specific safety guidelines and practices. Furthermore, it follows all relevant safety and health regulations for STS instruction in the state of Nebraska and requires students to complete safety tests with 100% accuracy. I will apply these ideas to my future STS program by continually updating safety programs as new and relevant information surfaces and holding every student to a high standard in regard to safety in the class and lab.
