Student Assessment
My Assessment Report shows that I have experience and understanding of implementing effective student assessment in STS programs. My Assessment Report shows that my program will utilize a variety of assessment methods, including formative and summative assessments, to measure student learning across all domains (technical, academic, employability). It also shows that I am able to implement assessment methods that are chosen or developed to ensure accurate and reliable measurements of student knowledge and skills because my assessment report shows that my students answered objective questions with 80% success and felt very good about how prepared they were going into the assessment. My assessment report uses student data to inform instruction, identify areas for improvement, and guide program modifications. I will continue to apply these ideas in my STS program by constantly gathering more current and relevant student assessment data for reports.
My OA Cart Safety Program illustrates that I can implement high-quality assessments. Specifically, the safety and parts quizzes demonstrate that I can assess data used to inform instruction, identify areas for improvement, and guide program modifications. This Safety Program also shows I can provide assessments directly aligned with program standards, curriculum objectives, and student learning outcomes. Assessing through a step-by-step check-off sheet shows the assessment methods chosen or developed to ensure accurate and reliable measurement of student knowledge and skills. Through the application of hands-on setup tests, the program incorporates authentic assessments that require students to ally their knowledge and skills in real-world contexts. I will apply these ideas to my STS program by providing multiple assessment strategies that will indicate the learning is happening in the classroom.
