Career & Technical Student Organizations
The Engineering Journal and Conveyor Belt Challenge documents show I am ready to implement Student Career Development. Specifically, these artifacts show I am able to integrate a CTSO into the CTE program by connecting classroom learning with SkillsUSA-style competitions that are accessible to all students. The Conveyor Belt Challenge mirrors real-world problem-solving events and encourages teamwork, planning, and technical execution. In addition, these artifacts show I am able to support skill and leadership development, as the journal requires students to document progress, reflect on challenges, and take ownership of their roles—key elements of CTSO participation. I will apply these ideas in my STS program by continuing to design challenges that align with CTSO events, encouraging all students to participate, and helping them connect classroom activities to industry expectations and leadership opportunities through SkillsUSA and similar organizations.
My unit plan shows I am ready to implement Student Career Development. Specifically, this artifact shows I am able to integrate CTSO opportunities into the CTE program by tracking and encouraging participation in leadership roles, competitions, and SkillsUSA events directly alongside classroom performance. In addition, it shows I am able to support student engagement and skill development, as the data reflects involvement in activities that enhance technical, academic, and employability skills while also providing exposure to industry expectations. I will apply these ideas in my STS program by continuing to embed CTSO experiences into coursework, making leadership and competitive opportunities visible and accessible for all students, and using tracking tools like this spreadsheet to monitor and encourage growth in both classroom and CTSO performance areas.
