Overview
Grace Gate is a personal productivity and Scripture mission app. It helps users pause before opening selected distracting apps by completing one Bible verse mission.
Grace Gate is designed to keep user data local whenever possible. The app does not include advertising, analytics SDKs, account creation, subscriptions, or a backend server.
Information We Do Not Collect
Grace Gate does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising or advertising measurement.
Grace Gate does not require an account and does not collect names, email addresses, contacts, photos, precise location, payment information, or browsing history.
Information Stored Locally
Grace Gate may store the following information on your device or in the app's local shared container so the app can function:
- Bible reading progress
- Selected reading language and reading plan settings
- Mission attempts, including typed or transcribed text, score, pass or fail status, and timestamp
- Daily unlock state for user-selected protected apps
- Screen Time selection tokens for user-selected apps, categories, or websites
- App preferences such as pass threshold and appearance mode
This information is used only to provide Grace Gate's app protection and Bible verse mission features.
Screen Time and Family Controls
Grace Gate uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, Shield Action, and Shield Configuration technologies to protect apps, categories, or websites selected by the user.
Apple provides opaque tokens for the user's selections. Grace Gate uses those tokens only to apply protection to the selected items. Grace Gate does not use Screen Time data for advertising, profiling, or selling information to third parties.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
Grace Gate offers a spoken Bible verse mission. If you choose to use voice mode, the app requests microphone and speech recognition permission so it can transcribe your spoken verse and compare it with the target Bible verse.
Grace Gate does not store audio recordings. The app uses the transcribed text to calculate a mission score. Speech recognition may be processed by Apple according to Apple's speech recognition and privacy practices. You can choose typing mode instead of voice mode.
Bible Text
Grace Gate stores Bible text locally in the app. Public domain or freely licensed Bible texts are used where available. The app does not require a network connection to read the included Bible text.
Third-Party Services
Grace Gate does not include third-party advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, analytics SDKs, or social media SDKs.
Children's Privacy
Grace Gate is designed for personal productivity and device usage management. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Choices
- You can use typing mode instead of voice mode.
- You can change or remove protected apps through Apple's app selection screen inside Grace Gate.
- You can reset Bible reading progress in the app settings.
- You can revoke microphone, speech recognition, or Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can delete Grace Gate from your device to remove app data stored by the app, subject to iOS behavior.
