Workshop: A two (2) day Skill Development Workshop on "GPU Computing for Computational Fluid Dynamics (GPU-CFD)" is being organized at National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa) from 21-12-2026 to 22-12-2026. This workshop is coordinated by the faculty members working in the research domains of CFD, Mathematics and fluid-thermal sciences from the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering, IIT Dharwad, School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, IIT Mandi and Department of Mechanical Engineering NIT Goa for the year 2026. This workshop is second in the series 1st being GPU-CFD 2025 workshop. to The Tentative Timetable has been prepared and shared below. The topics cover basic computational fluids dynamics, numerical methods, and the use of graphical processing units (GPUs) for accelerating CFD codes. Hands-on lab sessions will be organized everyday with focus on computer programming and simulations. Further, topics related to one and two-dimensional heat conduction equation, convection equation and incompressible fluid flow solvers will be discussed with finite-difference and finite-volume discretization methods. Students will learn how to use NVIDIA GPU cards to parallelize CFD codes with the use of programming modules such as CuPy, Numba CUDA and PyCUDA. The objectives of this workshop are:
Introduce and cover basics of CFD and discretizations
Introduce parallel programming using GPU cards with detailed discussion on CUDA programming environment
Hands-on programming in Python using modules such as CuPy, Numba CUDA and PyCUDA for CFD development
Lab sessions for developing codes and simulations with detailed post-processing of the results (including visualisations)

1st National Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics:
The conference will provide a forum for researchers, academicians, students, and practitioners to present and discuss recent developments and applications in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The scope of the conference is intentionally broad and is not restricted to GPU-based computing. Contributions addressing theoretical, numerical, computational, and application-oriented aspects of CFD are welcome.
Topics may include, but are not limited to, multiphase flows, turbulence, heat and mass transfer, reacting flows, fluid–structure interaction, biofluid mechanics, environmental and geophysical flows, aerodynamics, microfluidics, particle-laden flows, high-performance computing, data-driven CFD, and scientific machine learning. Studies employing commonly used CFD platforms and frameworks, including ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, COMSOL Multiphysics, and in-house, commercial, or open-source computational codes, are welcome.
The conference will feature various keynote lectures by invited experts along with poster presentations by participants.
Contributed presentations will be poster-only. Each participant will present an A0-size poster describing their work. Participants are free to use a poster design or template of their choice.
In addition to the poster session, each presenter will be given a 5-minute oral pitch to introduce their work to the conference audience. The pitch should highlight the problem being addressed, the computational approach, and the principal findings, and is intended to encourage further discussion during the poster session.
No separate conference-paper submission is required. Participants wishing to present their work should provide the title of their proposed poster in the registration form. The submitted work must be relevant to Computational Fluid Dynamics, although it need not involve GPU computing. Both ongoing and completed research relevant to the conference themes may be presented. We will announce further details about the keynote speakers, poster session, and conference schedule on this website.
