Overview
GPTZero AI ("we", "us") built this app to detect AI-generated writing and to rewrite text in a more human voice. This policy explains what we process and why. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your data.
Text You Analyze
AI detection runs on your device by default — the text you paste or scan is analyzed locally and is not sent to us.
If you use the Humanizer (rewrite) feature, the text you submit is sent to our AI processing provider, OpenAI, solely to generate the rewritten result, then returned to your device. Do not submit text you are not comfortable processing this way.
Camera, Photos & Microphone
If you scan text with the camera or import a photo, image processing and text recognition happen on your device using Apple's frameworks. If you dictate text, speech is converted to text using Apple's speech recognition. We do not retain your images or audio.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements. Apple and RevenueCat receive purchase-related information (such as a transaction identifier and subscription state) under their own privacy policies. We never receive your full payment card details.
History Stored on Your Device
Your analysis and rewrite history is stored locally on your device so you can revisit results. It stays on the device and is removed if you delete the history or uninstall the app.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information above to provide the detection and rewriting features, process subscriptions, and keep the app working. We do not use your text to train models, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Third-Party Services
OpenAI — processes Humanizer text (see openai.com/policies).
RevenueCat — manages subscriptions (see revenuecat.com/privacy).
Apple — processes purchases and provides on-device camera, photo, and speech features.
Data Retention
On-device data (history, settings) remains until you delete it. Text sent to OpenAI for rewriting is handled under OpenAI's retention terms and is not stored by us beyond returning your result.
Children's Privacy
This app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your Choices
You can clear your history in the app at any time, revoke camera/microphone/photo permissions in iOS Settings, and manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
