How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want two pairs of earbuds in one box with a gaming-grade low-latency mode and a 24-hour nonstop power setup, choose GOWENIC Earbuds; if you need a smart charging case with a full-color LCD screen, on-device MP3 playback and caller ID, choose Pongnas LCD Display BT.
• GOWENIC Earbuds — biggest strength: Two pairs of earphones plus a 300mAh charging case, giving you a spare set and 24-hour nonstop use without a charging break.
• GOWENIC Earbuds — biggest trade-off: It's built around gaming latency and shared listening, so there's no display-driven control, no app, and no standalone music playback.
• Pongnas LCD Display BT — biggest strength: A full-color LCD case screen for playback, EQ and noise-cancellation control, plus a memory-card slot for phone-free MP3 listening.
• Pongnas LCD Display BT — biggest trade-off: Playback runs roughly 5–6 hours per cycle, so it's a shorter-lived single-pair setup than the GOWENIC package.
• Who each is for: GOWENIC for couples, gamers and anyone who wants a backup pair ready to go; Pongnas for students, commuters and travelers who want to control everything from the case itself.
The GOWENIC Earbuds solve a very specific problem: running out of earbuds. The package includes four headphones — two complete pairs — plus a single 300mAh charging case that tops them all up. In practice that means one pair can be charging while the other is in your ears, which is how GOWENIC arrives at its claim of 24-hour nonstop power. Each individual earbud carries a small 25mAh battery, and the case handles the refills. For a couple sharing one kit, or for someone who constantly forgets to charge, that structure is genuinely useful rather than a gimmick.
The second thing it does well is gaming. GOWENIC lists latency of around 50ms, which is the number that matters when you're watching for audio to line up with on-screen action. It won't match a wired headset, but for casual mobile and PC gaming it keeps sound and picture close enough that you stop noticing the gap. The F13MM speaker drivers handle the audio side, and Bluetooth 5.4 keeps the connection quick — open the case and it pairs, close it and the buds charge automatically.
The connection design is where GOWENIC gets interesting. Each earbud can link to a different device independently without interference, or both can join the same source for stereo sound. That's what makes the couple-sharing angle real: two people, two phones, one kit — or one person listening in stereo. The LED display on the case and buds shows battery levels with colored light effects, so you always know roughly where you stand. It's in-ear, white, and covered by a 90-day manufacturer warranty.
Who should skip it? If you want a screen you can tap to change EQ settings, or you want to leave your phone at home and still play music, this isn't that product. There's no app, no memory-card slot and no caller ID readout. GOWENIC is about redundancy, sharing and low-latency play — not about being a control hub.
The Pongnas LCD Display BT is the opposite philosophy: one pair of earbuds, but a case that acts like a tiny remote control. The full-color LCD screen on the case handles music playback, toggles ambient sound mode, switches noise cancellation on and off, and lets you adjust EQ settings — all without pulling your phone out of your pocket. If you've ever fumbled for your phone on a packed train just to skip a track, that's the exact scenario this design targets. It's a small quality-of-life feature that adds up over a commute.
The standout feature is built-in MP3 playback. The earbuds support direct card playback from a memory card up to 128GB (the card isn't included), which means you can load music onto a card and listen without any phone at all. For focused study sessions, gym workouts where you don't want a phone bouncing around, or travel where phone use is restricted, that's a real capability rather than a spec-sheet extra. Pair it with the companion app and you also get firmware updates, music navigation and photo functions, plus earbud location tracking so you can find a bud you left on a desk or in a bag.
Battery is where Pongnas asks you to compromise. Each earbud holds a 35mAh battery, and the case holds 600mAh. Pongnas rates playback at roughly 5–6 hours, with about an hour to charge the earbuds and two hours for the case. That's a normal single-day figure, but it's not the nonstop setup GOWENIC offers — you're relying on one pair and remembering to top it up. The Bluetooth range is listed at 10 meters on version 5.4, which is standard for this class.
Caller ID on the LCD is a nice touch too: incoming names or numbers show on the screen, so you can decide whether to answer without checking your phone, which helps in noisy places or when your phone is out of reach. Who should skip it? If your priority is having a second pair ready for a partner, or you mainly care about gaming latency, the GOWENIC kit fits that better. Pongnas is a solo-listener's tool built around independence from your phone.
• Best for sharing between two people → GOWENIC Earbuds. Two full pairs in the box with independent connections.
• Best for nonstop battery → GOWENIC Earbuds. 300mAh case plus a spare pair supports continuous rotation.
• Best for gaming → GOWENIC Earbuds. Roughly 50ms latency is the figure to care about here.
• Best for controlling audio without your phone → Pongnas LCD Display BT. The case screen handles playback, EQ and noise cancellation.
• Best for phone-free listening → Pongnas LCD Display BT. Memory-card playback up to 128GB means no phone required.
• Best for finding lost earbuds → Pongnas LCD Display BT. App-based location tracking is built in.
• Best for caller screening → Pongnas LCD Display BT. Caller ID shows on the LCD during incoming calls.
• Best for a single lightweight daily pair → Pongnas LCD Display BT. One pair, 5–6 hours, app support, simple routine.
In my opinion, the Pongnas LCD Display BT is the more interesting buy for most people, because the LCD case genuinely changes how you use earbuds day to day — playback, EQ, noise cancellation and caller ID without touching your phone, plus MP3 playback from a memory card when you'd rather leave the phone behind. The 5–6 hour figure is the price of that convenience, and for a normal commute-and-study routine it's fine. That said, if you're buying for two people, or you want gaming-grade latency and a spare pair always charged, I'd point you to the GOWENIC Earbuds instead — the two-pair, 300mAh setup is purpose-built for exactly that. Check the current price on Amazon before you commit, since both sit in the budget tier and the gap may decide it for you.
GOWENIC is the gaming pick: it lists latency of around 50ms, which keeps audio and visuals close together. Pongnas lists "reliable low-latency performance" but doesn't publish a millisecond figure, so it's the less specific option for competitive play.
GOWENIC pairs a 300mAh case with 25mAh per earbud and two pairs, which is how it reaches 24-hour nonstop use through rotation. Pongnas lists roughly 5–6 hours of playback per cycle with a 35mAh earbud battery and a 600mAh case.
Only Pongnas. It supports direct memory-card playback up to 128GB (card not included), so you can listen with no phone at all. GOWENIC has no card slot and needs a Bluetooth source.
It depends what you count as value. GOWENIC gives you two pairs and a bigger case; Pongnas gives you an LCD control screen, app features and MP3 playback. Check the current price on Amazon for both and match it to the feature you'd actually use.
