The following blog was written and sent to us an anonymous Winona, MN resident. If you have your own goose story you would like to share, contact us today.
During my walk by the lake, the geese began charging at me. I live in the Winona area and regularly walk around the lake, oftentimes passing by the geese. This was my first occurrence with a goose that seemed to have it out for me. I was not bothering it and I kept my distance at around 8 feet at least, so I do not understand why it began coming after me.
The goose started trying to bite me, but I swiftly got away. I have heard about recent issues revolving around the geese specifically in the Winona area, my friend called me the other day and she said she experienced a similar situation. In her situation, she got bit by one of the geese on the backside of her leg and has been experiencing some of the concerning conditions. She said moments after the crisis, "It feels like it is throbbing, as if there is something in my leg trying to jump out."
She scheduled an appointment as soon as possible with the doctors, and got an appointment this morning. She called me this morning immediately after the scheduled doctor's appointment finished. Her doctor told her that her blood pressure was very high blood pressure, he the preceded to give her medication. He told her that there was nothing to worry about right now, but to give them a call if the bite doesn't get better.
