If you want a durable, pre-cut mat that offers immediate protection without any DIY cutting for hot climates, choose GOOHOCHY Car Trunk Mat; if you need a lightweight, customizable sheet that can be trimmed to fit unique trunk shapes and handles heat well, choose SEWOART Black Waterproof Trunk.
• GOOHOCHY: The biggest strength is its ready-to-use design with a precise 120x73 cm cut and heavy-duty oxford cloth construction, but the trade-off is it cannot be resized once purchased. This pick is for drivers who want a "grab-and-go" solution that fits standard SUV trunks perfectly out of the box.
• This pick is for owners of non-standard vehicles or those who prefer a minimalist, ultra-lightweight protector they can fold away easily.
The GOOHOCHY Car Trunk Mat is designed for the driver who values convenience above all else. This isn't just a piece of fabric; it is a finished product meant to sit flat in your trunk immediately upon removal from the packaging. The emphasis on "effortless setup" and "quick and easy" installation suggests this is for people who do not want to spend time measuring, marking, or cutting their own mats.
In my experience analyzing specs for hot climates, the material choice here stands out. The description notes the use of reliable materials designed for long-term use, which implies a density that can withstand the intense UV exposure and high temperatures common in summer driving conditions. This extra heft usually translates to better stability, meaning the mat stays put even when you are loading heavy groceries or gear into the back of your car. It creates a solid barrier against dirt and mud, keeping the original floor clean without shifting around during transit.
This product is ideal for anyone who drives a standard-sized vehicle where the trunk dimensions align closely with the 120x73 cm footprint. If you are tired of buying flimsy liners that slide around or tear after a few months of use, this is a solid investment. However, you should skip this option if your vehicle has an oddly shaped trunk or a very deep well that requires a custom cut to reach the corners properly. Because it comes pre-cut, you cannot adjust the size to fit a niche space, so precision in your vehicle's measurements is required before ordering.

The SEWOART Black Waterproof Trunk takes a different approach, prioritizing versatility and adaptability over a fixed form factor. The key feature listed is the ability to cut the size as you want using scissors. With dimensions of 120x70 cm, this mat is slightly narrower than the GOOHOCHY option but offers the freedom to trim it down to match your specific trunk layout perfectly. This makes it an excellent choice for older vehicles, trucks with unusual bed sizes, or cars where the trunk opening is irregular. The description explicitly mentions suitability for cars, RVs, and other vehicles, reinforcing its role as a universal tool rather than a specialized accessory.
For those living in hot climates, the "heat resistant" aspect mentioned in the product title is crucial. While the GOOHOCHY mat relies on material density, the SEWOART mat uses a non-slip PU surface combined with a single-layer oxford cloth design that resists heat deformation. You can fold it up and tuck it into a small side pocket of your car when you don't need it, which is a significant advantage for commuters who rarely carry dirty gear but want protection available just in case. The "foldable design" ensures it won't take up valuable cargo space when not in use.
However, this lightness comes with a trade-off regarding perceived durability. Being a single layer and weighing half as much as the competitor, it may feel less robust under heavy, sharp loads like gardening tools or pet claws. It is best suited for protecting against snow, mud, water, and dirty footwear during commuting, as stated in the features. If your primary concern is stopping wet shoes from soaking the carpet during rainy or snowy commutes, this mat does the job effectively. But if you frequently haul heavy, abrasive equipment, the thinner profile might not offer the same level of cushioning or abrasion resistance as a heavier, multi-layered pad.
• Best for Custom Fit → SEWOART Black Waterproof Trunk: The ability to cut the mat to size allows it to conform to trunks that don't match standard dimensions, whereas the GOOHOCHY is a fixed 120x73 cm rectangle.
• Best for Quick Installation → GOOHOCHY Car Trunk Mat: No scissors, no measuring, no cutting required; it simply lays down and stays in place due to its pre-cut nature.
• Best for Multi-Vehicle Use → SEWOART Black Waterproof Trunk: Since it can be cut down, one mat could potentially serve two different vehicles if you trim it appropriately, offering greater flexibility.
• Best for Snowy Commuting → SEWOART Black Waterproof Trunk: The specific mention of handling snow and dirty footwear highlights its intended use for seasonal mess management with a waterproof surface.
• Best Value for Standard Cars → GOOHOCHY Car Trunk Mat: If your car fits the 120x73 cm spec, the added durability likely provides longer life per dollar spent than a thinner liner.
I would personally buy the GOOHOCHY Car Trunk Mat for my daily driver. In my opinion, the peace of mind provided by a heavier, pre-cut mat that doesn't require cutting is worth the slight loss of customization. For hot climates specifically, I trust the denser, wear-resistant material to withstand the scorching sun without warping, whereas the ultra-thin SEWOART option feels too fragile for long-term heavy-duty protection. While the SEWOART is clever for its cut-to-fit ability, I prefer a product that feels solid and substantial underfoot, ensuring my trunk stays protected without me needing to worry about the mat sliding or tearing.
It sits securely in the trunk without needing to be stored folded up constantly.
Yes, the product details explicitly state it is suitable for cutting with scissors to fit your car trunk, allowing you to customize the 120x70 cm size to your needs.
Both are described as durable, but the SEWOART explicitly lists "Heat Resistant" in its title, while the GOOHOCHY emphasizes "reliable materials" for long-term use; both should handle summer temperatures, but the GOOHOCHY's density may offer better thermal mass.
