After close to two weeks on the road, the Warriors return to Warriors ground on Monday looking to take advantage of the home crowd for the first time in six games. They did just that, jumping out to a 42-36 lead after the first quarter, propelled by 18 points, two rebounds and four assists from Stephen Curry in the frame. The hot start gave the Warriors the edge they needed, as the rolled to a 132-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Curry finished the game with 42 points, eight rebounds and six assists, and with four made three-point field goals, he notched his tenth consecutive game with 30 or more points and four or more made field goals as he chases down James Harden’s record of 14 consecutive games.
Alec Burks continues to enjoy a hot streak, scoring 14 points off the bench with 10 rebounds and D’Angelo Russell had 24 points, his eight straight game with 20 or more points.
After a competitive first half, the Warriors worked to pull away in the third quarter, building up a 94-58 advantage. Russell went on a tear to end the quarter, scoring 10 straight points to push the lead to 104-82.
In the fourth, the Warriors put the final touches on their first home game of December, holding the Grizzlies to just 10 points in the quarter, including a 6:22 scoreless drought.
After getting Kevon Looney back near the tail-end of the five-game road trip, the Warriors are expecting to get Jacob Evans III back on Wednesday against the Knicks. Evans III has been out since October with a hip abductor injury.
