Kevon Looney is expected to return to the Warrior lineup on Monday night in Atlanta. Looney appeared in the Warriors opening-night matchup with the Clippers, but has missed the last 20 games due to neuropathy, affecting his hamstring.
The Hawks enter Monday night’s contest with an 11-9 record and in a three-way tie for the third seed in the Eastern Conference with the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls. The Hawks have been one of the league’s most reliable shooting teams through the first quarter of the season, shooting 47.8 percent from the floor (6th in the NBA) and 37.0 percent three-point range (4th in the NBA). Despite the top six shooting percentages, the Hawks rank 20th in the NBA in field goal attempts and 29th in three-point field goal attempts.
Atlanta is led by the smooth shooting Trae Young, who is tied with James Harden for second in the NBA with 3.9 made three-point field goals and and ranks fourth in the NBA in 19.9 field goal attempts. His 25.3 points per game are 11th most in the NBA and 4th most among point guards.
The Hawks have also gotten reliable play from rookies De’Andre Hunter and Cameron Reddish, who rank third and fourth among rookies with 16.8 points per game and 15.7 points per game, respectively. Hunter also ranks among the top six among rookies with 5.0 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game.
