After suffering two straight disappointing losses, the Warriors offense erupted early on Friday night to ensure the disappointment ended there. With 40 points, eight rebounds and eight assists from Stephen Curry, the Warriors built a 23-point lead at halftime en route to a 132-107 win over the Boston Celtics.
D'Angelo Russell added 22 points and nine assists and Alec Burks scored 13 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the free throw line. After a competitive first quarter had the Warriors and Celtics tied at 32, the offense erupted in the second. The two teams traded buckets for the first six minutes of the quarter before the Warrior offense went to work.
Russell and Curry combined for a quick 8-0 run to extend the Warrior lead 11 before a Kemba Walker layup cut it back to nine. Eric Paschall (12 points, six rebounds, two assists) then converted two free throws before draining a wide open corner three off a Russell assist. With the lead now extended to 63-51 after Walker free throws, Curry stepped in to cap the impressive run, scoring nine points in the final 2:54 as part of a 14-3 Warrior run to end the quarter, and the final note in a 29-7 run over the last 6:18.
Draymond Green (10 points, 10 rebounds, six assists) and Willie Cauley-Stein (12 points, 13 rebounds) both notched double-doubles for the Warriors as all 10 players who appeared scored and six players finished with 10 or more points.
The Warriors hit the road to face the Pelicans on Sunday night to kickoff a four game road trip.
