All good things must come to an end. For the Warriors, that end was Saturday in Milwaukee as the team saw their 13-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Bucks 140-104. Milwaukee used a dominant fourth quarter, in which they outscored the Warriors 48-20, to ride their way to victory.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors on offense, scoring a team-high 35 points while going 9-for-18 from beyond the arc. Jaylen Brown added 24 points of his own. Their production wouldn’t be enough, as Golden State was beaten 20-8 on the offensive glass, leading to 24 second chance points for the Bucks.
The Warriors, who trailed by just eight points entering the fourth, allowed the Bucks multiple looks on many possessions in the game’s final 12 minutes. Giannis Antetokounmpo finished the night with 10 offensive boards and 26 total rebounds to go with 45 points. Khris Middleton refused to miss for Milwaukee, scoring 30 points in 30 minutes and going 8-for-9 from beyond the arc.
The loss ends the season series between the Bucks and Warriors in a 1-1 draw, with the Warriors taking the first meeting 126-112 in December.
The Warriors return to Toronto for the first time since the NBA Finals on Monday night to face the Raptors. Golden State took the first meeting between the two teams 130-102 on March 5.
