The Dubs scored 46 points in transition and got 40 points from their bench to lift them to a 136-90 victory over the Kings on Monday.
The Warriors kicked off a three-game California stretch, two of which are on the road, on Monday night in Sacramento with a dominant first half en route to a 136-90 victory over the Kings, taking the first two games of the season series.
With the league’s best transition offense, the Warriors stayed true to form, scoring 48 points on the fast break, including 16 in the first quarter. The hot shooting rolled into the second quarter, where the Dubs poured in 48 points while holding the Kings to just 24 to build a 84-54 lead.
Stephen Curry paced the Warrior offense, scoring 36 points and dealing out 10 assists. Draymond Green put together one of the best offensive performances of his season, scoring 32 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a pair of blocks.
While the Warriors’ veterans leaders led the offense, the Golden State bench added a critical punch, combining for 40 points as the Kings bench managed just 14. Alec Burks led the offensive production among the second unit with 20 points, and Eric Paschall added 16 points with eight rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks.
The Warriors needed the bench contribution and transition attack as they shot just 31 percent (8-for-26) from three point range despite making 53 percent (56-for-106) of their total field goals.
The Warriors host the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night in a meeting of two of the leading MVP candidates when Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stephen Curry square off.
