As a starting point, there's a large catalogue here. It lists virtually all the dictionaries ever made for Lingvo,but no files are hosted there -- only links at best. Use it to find whether or not the dictionary you are searchingfor indeed exists -- and sometimes the download link is present, as well.Also notice that this site has a list of other sites with .dsl dictionaries, here.
And this forum thread is all about creating user dictionaries in .dsl format. It has a lot of content created already,and the members are very active. You will need registration in order to read it, though.
Some Lingvo dictionaries are only available in a binary .lsd format. Those are .dsl in compiled form. There's no official wayto unpack them back to .dsl, though some unofficial ways do exist. If you absolutely need to convert some .lsd back to.dsl, you can try the forum thread mentioned, or just try googling.
Our official position on the decompilation of the Lingvo's official dictionaries is as follows: We believe that if you legally own a copy of theLingvo program, you are eligible to be able to use your dictionaries underany other program of your choice, and therefore you should be allowed to decompile those dictionaries in order to get them into an interoperable form. However, this act may be expressely forbidden by the Lingvo EULA. Whether thisis legal or not is questionable. Consult your lawyer if you have doubts.
Can someone refer me to some offline dictionaries to use with GoldenDict and how to install/integrate them with it? Preferably English to English dictionaries with large wordbase and phonetic notations for pronunciations, their usage in sentences etc.
There is a whole page dedicated to dictionaries on the official website, Getting dictionaries for GoldenDict. I'm not sure if you can get other suggestions here because, as clearly explained on that page, there is a risk of copyright infringements for the non-free dictionaries.
EDIT: Up to the end of 2019, Babylon Software used to offer a large selection of free .bgl dictionaries that work flawlessly with GoldenDict. This was possible due to a loophole in the international intellectual property treaties dealing with databases. Unfortunately, this seems to be no longer the case.
I recently have found that only goldendict is modern QT application to integrate many dictionaries in a common platform, am using it under Fedora. After having installed it under Fedora I made it to scan a folder where I have many ABBYY dictionaries in .lsd format & audio modules in .lsa format. It scanned successfully & added all the audio files & do also gave me offline audio pronounciation however it failes to integrate any .lsd dictionaries.
As far as I know, the LSD format is a closed proprietary format by Abbyy, and as such it is not supported in the PC version of GoldenDict, since GoldenDict is open source and the author decided not to put the code that deals with LSD dictionaries under open source license.

For Epwing dictionaries icon file must be named by name of folder with dictionary data beside "catalogs" file (a few folders can be presented, every folder is separate dictionary) and placed beside "catalogs" file.
At every launch GoldenDict scan folders with dictionaries to create dictionaries list. The more files in these folder is the more time for scanning. Therefore it is recommended to compress dictionary resources into zip archives and to use Zips sound packs instead of sound files in separate folders. ff782bc1db
