Chin-Chin is a musical fantasy with book by Anne Caldwell and R. H. Burnside, lyrics by Anne Caldwell and music by Ivan Caryll. The show first opened at the Forrest Theatre at September 29, 1914, produced by Charles Dillingham. The musical was star-vehicle for David Montgomery and Fred Stone, who played multiple characters during this Broadway retelling of the Aladdin story. The show had it's Broadway premiere at the Globe Theatre, New York, on October 20th, 1914. The Saxophone band The Six Brown Brothers would make their big break when they joined the cast of Chin - Chin, even recording a Fox-Trot medley for vinyl. The Broadway transfer was a huge success and brought in 1 million dollars in ticket sales, the show also lunched a successful clothing line included Chin-Chin hats, Chin-Chin Neckw'r and Chin-Chin dresses. Chin - Chin would close it's Broadway run on July 3rd 1915, but returned for a short engagement (now with Fred Stone's wife Allene Carter joining the cast) August 16th. The engagement was so popular it was extended, closing on it's 600th performance on December 18th, 1915 before touring.
