This artwork started as a dyptic and evolved as more components were added, finally gaining that central red strip. The shapes are loosely derived from seismic traces, core samples and other upstream icons, the central red is tripping.

I'm delighted with the whole effect and it offered reassurance that abstract art is better when it interacts with interesting shapes.
